I I. Professional Information:1- Overall aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to develop enhanced skills and understanding of the crown
technology applications so that the graduate is competent in the use of different crown
and bridge laboratory techniques including the advanced ones. It is also intended that the
graduate will be more aware of the necessity for life-long learning and will also haveenhanced communication skills.
2- Intended Learning Outcomes of the course ( ILOs):
A: Knowledge and understanding of:1. Group discussion of cases.
2. Dental material science relevant to crown & bridge.3. Describe the different laboratory steps for different types of fixed prostheses.
4. Different crown and bridge Laboratory procedures.
5. The advanced laboratory technique in crown and bridge construction.6. Current infection control procedures and their scientific basis.
7. Research methodologies.
B: Intellectual Skills:1. Apply the different laboratory techniques in crown and bridge construction.
2. Can manage and operate different recent CAD/CAM systems
3. Reflect critically on one’s own practical and academic work .4. Design and undertake a research project. 5. Analyze critically scientific data. 6. Appraise critically own and other research.

C: Professional and practical skills:1. Maintain a safe and infection-controlled environment.2. Work within the scope of the crown and bridge laboratory team.

4. Use laboratory equipment during fixed partial denture construction.5. Perform laboratory procedures with understanding of biomaterials related to the
prosthesis and have competent dexterity and skill for performing laboratory
procedures in crown & bridge.
