CourseSynopsis
Thiscourseaimsto buildon the principlesof communicativeteachingwith particularfocuson orallanguage.The structureof spokenlanguageis examined.The underlyingtheoriesof oralcommunicationwill be exploredincludingcommunicationtheories,ritualand socialevents,schematheory, and speechacts. It will reinforcethe conceptofsettingcriteriafor successfullanguagelearning.Theteachingof listeningandspeakingis centralto good languageteachingsincethey are impoftantfor both classroomexposureand lifelong language needs. The topics covered include theoreticalbackgroundto oralcommunication,listeningandspeakingmethodology,etc.
