COURSE & METHODOLOGY ADIS course is affiliated by West
Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE). The
affiliation of the course for the year 2015-16 is awaited. The
course is presented in the form of a series of class-room teaching,
practical classes, laboratory work, project work, term work, visits
to industrial establishments, discussions and case studies,
workshops, seminars etc. in the field of occupational safety and
health. The course is divided into two semesters (of each about 6
months). During the 1st semester, the students are required to
undergo 5 theoretical subjects, Engineering Drawing, Term work,
Industrial Hygiene & Occupational Health Laboratory work etc.
In the 2nd semester the students are required to undergo 6
theoretical subjects including one elective paper, Safety
Engineering Laboratory & Project Work etc. DATE OF COMMENCEMENT
20th July, 2015 TIMING From 1030 Hrs. to 1630 Hrs. (Monday to
Friday)
EXAMINATION All the students will have to appear in both the
semesters examination to be conducted by WBSCTE. The Examination
scheme includes theoretical papers (answers to be written in
English), evaluation of term work, engineering drawing, laboratory
assignment and viva-voce. FACULTY The faculty consists of experts
from various disciplines of the Institute, specialists from
industries, other Institutes and different Government
departments.

QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION Educational Qualification (a) A
Degree in Engineering / Technology from recognised University
Or (b) A Diploma in any branch of Engineering or Technology
recognised
by the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education or
equivalent
Or (c) A Degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry &
Mathematics) of a
University recognised by UGC Candidates who are waiting for the
result of the qualifying final examination are not eligible to
apply. . AGE Maximum age limit 50 years as on 01-01-2015
RESERVATION For SC/ST, seats are reserved in accordance with the
Government Rules. NOTE : 1. The following order of preference will
be given while selecting the
candidates:
a) Candidate having requisite qualification and experience
(relevant practical experience in a supervisory capacity in
manufacturing, quality assurance, maintenance, Safety department,
building or other construction works, port or a dock, research,
training/education in the field of safety or environment,
Government Department in administration of any safety
legislation) and duly sponsored by their present employers in
Sponsorship Form. The sponsorship Form by General Manager and above
with seal and mobile contact Number.
b) Candidate having requisite qualification and experience
(relevant
practical experience in a supervisory capacity in manufacturing,
quality assurance, maintenance, Safety department, building or
other construction works, port or a dock, research,
training/education in the field of safety or environment,
Government Department in administration of any safety legislation)
and permission (non-sponsored) by the employer.
c) Candidates having requisite qualification and experience
(relevant practical experience in a supervisory capacity in
manufacturing, quality assurance, maintenance, Safety department,
building or other construction works, port or a dock, research,
training/education in the field of safety or environment,
Government Department in administration of any safety legislation)
but currently not employed.
d) Candidates having requisite qualification (relevant
practical
experience in a supervisory capacity in manufacturing, quality
assurance, maintenance, Safety department, building or other
construction works, port or a dock, research, training/education in
the field of safety or environment, Government Department in
administration of any safety legislation) and but no experience and
employment.
2. Attendance All students are required to attend 80% of
theoretical and practical classes failing which they will be
positively debarred from Registration and Examination by West
Bengal State Council of Technical Education.

FEES AND OTHER EXPENSES (All Fees & Other Expenses are
likely to be revised soon) (I) Fees: ` 7,250/- (Rupees seven
thousand two hundred & fifty) only for the
entire Course (fee once paid is not refundable). The Course Fee
of ` 7,250/- (Rupees seven thousand two hundred & fifty) only
is to be paid by Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of the
Administrative Officer, Regional Labour Institute, Lake Town,
Kolkata 700 089 payable at Kolkata at the time of admission.
(II) Other Expenses:
(A) A bed in a double-bedded room (lodging only) will be
provided
to those who opt to stay in the hostel of this Institute. An
amount of ` 30/- (Rupees thirty) only per head per day will be
charged. The charges are payable in advance for each month or part
thereof to the Institute in Cash. No family accommodation can be
provided. Accommodation will be given only to the participants.
(B) Caution Money deposit of ` 1,200/- (Rupees one thousand two
hundred) only for Library facility will have to be paid in Cash at
the time of admission.
(C) Registration Fee and Examination Fee as prescribed by West
Bengal State Council of Technical Education, Government of West
Bengal is to be paid by the students.
(D) In addition to the above charges:
(a) The students will have to bear the expenses in
connection
with industrial visits arranged as a part of the curriculum. (b)
Incidental expenses for project work, sessional work
and stationery are also to be borne by the students
themselves.
APPLICATION Candidates residing or working in the states of West
Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand and all the North-Eastern States
are only eligible to apply. The original application in prescribed
format of 2014-15, duly filled in, all respect and enclosed with
attested copies of certificates of qualification, age proof and
experience should reach to the Director-in-Charge, Regional Labour
Institute, Lake Town, Kolkata 700 089 latest by 02-06-2015.
Applications which are incomplete made as per old format, received
after the last date on 02-06-2015 and sent through fax, email will
be rejected. N.B.: Applications from candidates residing or working
other than as specified above will summarily be rejected. No
correspondence in this regard will be entertained. METHOD OF
SELECTION The candidates may have to appear for an interview before
a Selection Committee at this Institute. Date and time of interview
will be displayed at the website (www.dgfasli.nic.in). No TA/DA
will be paid by this Institute for appearing the interview. It may
please be noted that calling for interview does not guarantee
admission to the Course. At the time of selection, candidates are
required to produce the original certificates/mark sheets in
support of their qualification and experience. Those selected for
admission will have to join the Course at this Institute
immediately. ACCOMMODATION Limited non-family single bed in
double/triple bedded room on sharing basis, without boarding
facility will be made available only to the outstation candidates
at the RLI Hostel on first-come first-served basis. Accommodation
will be given only to the candidates. APPLICANTS ARE ADVISED TO
