Chinese for Children 学前中文 PreK – Kindergarten The program is designed specially for young children from age 3 to 5. Students will learn basic Chinese skills via songs, poems, picture readings, activities, and Chinese handcrafts. Class materials are closely related to children’s everyday life. Children enjoy learning Chinese with our loving and caring teachers in the dynamic and fun classroom environment. High School Chinese 高中中文 High school Levels, SAT/AP Chinese New Practical Chinese Readers This is the most popular textbook used to teach Chinese in universities all over the United States. The objective of this textbook, and its companion workbooks, is to develop the student's ability to communicate using Chinese through the study of language structure, language function, and related cultural knowledge along with the training of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Each lesson includes Text, New Words, Notes, Conversation Practice, Reading Comprehension, Phonetics, Grammar, Characters and Cultural Notes. Great Wall has adopted the text book series for high school years Chinese study. Upon completeion of class 11-12, Students will take SAT II Chinese and AP Chinese exams. Ma-Li-Ping Chinese 马力平中文 Elementary – middle school Levels Immersion track The textbook is designed for heritage students to read and speak first without Pinyin, and then write. It focuses on recognizing Chinese characters through short stories and folk poems. After cumulating certain numbers of characters, students will be able to read and write fluently. It teaches Pinyin, dictionary and computer skills starting in book-6. It has well designed media as supplementary materials to help students reading, writing and listening at home. Upon completion of class-8/book 12, students will master 1400 plus Chinese character. Standard Chinese 标准中文 Elementary – middle school Levels Bilingual track Students begin learning Chinese with Chinese phonetic system (Pin Yin) and tones. Beginning levels textbooks have Chinese Phonetic Alphabets for all the texts; and focus on speaking and listening vial daily-life conversations. As the learning progress, reading and writing are explored more in depth. Cultural content are well integrated with the language content. In each lesson students will learn new words and phrases, basic sentences and have hands-on class exercises. Upon completion of class-8B/book 6, the students will learn about 600 frequently used Chinese words, 600 phrases and 200 basic sentences. Practical Chinese for Adults 成人中文 The program is designed for adults to learn basic Chinese via conversations, while also exploring reading and some writing. The class is re-grouped each quarter based on individual skill levels and learning pace. Smaller class size helps the instructor work with student individually in class. This art class will emphasize on the fundamental trainings for the students. It teaches students the core skills for drawing, sketching and use of colors and shades. Students in the class enjoy learning and have accomplished with impressive art works.

Young Art 儿童绘画 Mo Geng is an accomplished artist from China who loves working with children. The class teaches basic skills of drawing. Each class has drawing theme such as animals, flowers, and plants, etc. Students will complete their artwork in each lesson. It is amazing class for students to do their artwork using their own imagination.

Chinese Martial Arts 功夫 National Martial Arts Academy Instructors from NMA help our students achieve their personal best by building their bodies and minds through martial arts training. All programs taught at the NMAA are Chinese based including; Traditional Kung Fu, Contemporary Wushu, Tai Chi Chuan and Gung Fu.. http://www.wushunmaa.net/

Children Violin 少儿提琴 Mimi has taught children violin for more than 30 years. The class teaches basic skills of playing violin. Students will learn both Suzuki and Chinese folk music. The instructor gives both group and individual instructions in classroom. Students perform in school and community events year-round that give our students a unique opportunity to explore on bigger stages.

Chinese Folk Dance 民族舞蹈 Moon Lee is a professional Chinese folk dancer and artists from Hong Kong. Students will learn beautiful Chinese folk dances while building-up basic dance skills. Moon Lee has her own beautiful way to interpret dance into life. The dance class performs in school and community events year-round that give students a unique way to explore on bigger stages and become shining stars and young artists.

Yoga May Walker is a certified Hatha Yoga instructor and practicing yoga for over 7 years. The class brings a lot of joy and strength to people’s life from many aspects - body, mind and spirit.
