September – 10:00am – 3:00pm

If you cannot attend the enrolment day please drop into the Centre

before the start date of the course to enrol. Please be aware the

course enrolment will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Anger Management

This course will enable you to understand the root causes of anger

and improve relationships at home and at work. The course will

teach you to manage your anger for more positive outcomes.

Start Date: 20th September

Time & Course Duration: 10:30am – 12:30pm for 10 Weeks

Alcohol Awareness

This class will teach you about the consequences of drinking alcohol not just to the individual but to society in general. This class aims to help to reduce the harm caused by the misuse of alcohol.

Date: Wednesday 19th September

Time: 1:00pm – 3:00pm for one day

Building Self Confidence and Self Esteem

The kind of topics this course covers are: looking for strengths and

best points, body language, positive thinking, being confident with

people and practical strategies to be confident.

Free childcare may be available, this needs booking in advance.

It may be possible to claim travel expenses at the end of the course

(bus tickets need to be saved).

Start Date: Wednesday 26th September

Time & Course Duration: 12:30pm – 3:00pm for 6 weeks

Counselling Skills

This course is for those who want to learn counselling skills to help others, either on a voluntary or an employed basis.

Free childcare may be available, this needs booking in advance.

It may be possible to claim travel expenses at the end of the course

(bus tickets need to be saved).

Gentle Intro to Getting That Job

Four workshops to prepare you to get back into work.

This course will involve practical help in:`

Writing your own CV

Where to look for relevant jobs

Filling in application forms

Background information on how to prepare for an interview

Mock interview when you can put into practice all the skills

you have learned

Job Club

If you would like help finding jobs, producing a CV, sending online application forms or maybe a bit of everything then come along to our Job Club.

Spaces are limited in Job Club so please call in advance to check for spaces available.

Day and Time: Every Tuesday 10am – 12:30pm

Introduction to Career Preparation

This short course will develop your knowledge and understanding of

how to prepare for a career; help you recognise your qualities,

skills, interests and achievements; develop your skills in

researching information about careers and help you prepare for

interviews. Confidence building will also be incorporated into the

course.

After the course you will be supported to find a short voluntary

placement to gain practical skills to add to your CV.

Literacy and Numeracy

This pre entry level group is aimed at women who have no formal

qualifications who would like to improve their reading, writing and

maths.

Start Date: Every Monday

Time & Course Duration: 10:00am – 12:00pm and is a rolling

course

Maths for Life and Work

This course will help you improve your number skills for every day.

You can work towards a Level 2 qualification (GCSE equivalent).

Start Date: Tuesday 18th September

Time & Course Duration: 1:00pm – 3:00pm for 12 weeks

Money Matters

Learning to make every penny count! This course will help you to

improve the way you manage your money, deal with debts – and

avoid debt that you can’t manage and much more.

This course is aimed at women who are at risk of offending. We are

able to refund travel expenses on this course and offer childcare in

our onsite children’s daycare free of charge. Please discuss this with

us when booking onto the course.

Radical Readers

Join our new group to chat about feminist literature, fact, fiction,

poetry and children’s books. The group will also discuss and plan

small, local actions that we can take to address the issues affecting

women in society.

Women’s Empowerment Group

10 sessions in a small group of women, in a safe environment, facilitated by a trained psychotherapist. A chance to find your strength and confidence with the support you need to make the

changes you want.

Start Date: 2 Groups starting week commencing 17th

September 2012 (days to be confirmed)

Time & Course Duration: 10:00am – 12:30pm for 10 weeks

ECDL Essentials

This is the European Computer Drivers License Level 1 qualification. Units covered are:

IT Security for Users

IT User Fundamentals

Web Browsing and Communication.

This is an internationally IT qualification which will look great on your CV as it is recognised by employers.

Computer Workshop

This is an entry Level 1 course. It will help you to acquire new skills

and help you to overcome initial fears and help boost your

confidence and explore the versatility of the computer.

CHANGES Café

Our café will pop up twice a week in our newly renovated kitchen to

serve you delicious food to eat in or to take away. We aim to

provide affordable tasty food to all women, so tell your friends and

family about us too!

Please talk to us if you would like to volunteer for the cafe too!

Dates: Every Tuesday & Thursday

Times: 11.00am – 2.00pm

Lesbian/bi women’s Café evening

This will usually be on the 2nd Monday of the month, in the

Welcome Space. A relaxed space to socialise and find out about

other groups and activities. Donations asked for food.

Pamper Sessions

Treatments available are: Reflexology, Aromatherapy Massage or

Chakra Balance. Booking is essential so please contact reception if

Reiki

We offer Reiki as a complimentary treatment with each session

lasting approximately 45mins. If you are interested please book in

Yoga

Promotes good health and well being. Aimed at all levels. Beginners

always welcome!
