ACCESS STUDENT EMAIL ACCOUNT

UNDERSTANDING YOUR PLACEMENT Math and English assessment exams are no longer required for all students. In alignment with AB 705/1805, all students have the right to access transfer-level English composition and transfer-level math. AB 705 is a law that requires California Community Colleges to maximize the probability that a student will enter and complete transfer-level coursework in English and Math within a one-year time frame. Delta College will place students into English and Math courses using one or more of the following:

High school coursework High school grades High school grade point average Submit high school transcripts or other documents to Admissions & Records.

o Students who have completed college-level English and/or math courses or have taken certain tests (Advanced Placement, IB, CLEP, SAT, etc...) should follow up with a counselor and submit a AP/IB/CLEP Examination Credit Petition.

UC/CSU Transferable Library Courses

Library Information Literacy (LIBRY 1), a one-unit course, is designed to help the student develop information literacy skills and to introduce a variety of information resources and information retrieval tools available in academic libraries. The student learns how to develop research strategies and how to utilize library resources and services to effectively retrieve information in this course. (UC, CSU) Advanced Library Information Literacy (LIBRY 2), a two-unit course, is designed to further develop the student's information literacy and critical thinking skills learned in Library Information Literacy. In this course, special emphasis is given to the Internet as a research tool, online bibliographic tools, online databases, online searching strategies, general and specialized reference books, law reference sources, and career information. (UC, CSU) Information Competency (LIBRY 3), a three-unit online course, is designed to empower students with the technological skills, research strategies, and critical thinking abilities needed to find, evaluate, use, and communicate information in various formats. The course promotes consideration of ethical and legal use of information as well as the application of both critical thinking and communication skills. The course combines instruction, hands-on learning and applications, online class discussions, analysis and evaluation of information, learning assessment, and a research project. (UC, CSU)

The course includesinvestigation of job duties, training, educational requirements, desired employeecharacteristics, salary ranges, and future employment trends. (CSU)

The ATTIC contains a variety of computer equipment for class assignments, research, and study. All you need is your current student ID. Admissions & Records

Admissions and Records assists students with applying for graduation, degrees, and certificates; registering for classes; submitting petitions; and request transcripts. Provides opportunities to learn about career pathways and connects students with employers in work-based learning for success into the workforce. EOPS/CARE

Extended Opportunity Programs and Services/Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (EOPS/CARE) provides supportive services to students who meet specific educational and income criteria. The EOPS staff assist with: individualized counseling, priority registration, tutoring, book service, transportation assistance, completion of the financial aid application, university tours, transfer services, workshops and special events. Mustang Pass and Student Activity Sticker

The Mustang Pass (Student ID Card) serves as your student ID card and is issued by the Associated Students of Delta College (ASDC) for only $10 per semester. Payments can be made online through the student registration or at the Cashier’s Office. You can bring a copy of your class schedule and receipt of payment (obtained online or the Cashier’s Office) to the Office of Student Activities. Make sure to renew your Mustang Pass so to access the full benefits each semester. Hours: Monday-Thursday from 8:00am-5:00pm (closed 12:00–1:00); Friday 8:00am-12:00pm. Location: Shima 101C

Parking Permits

Permits required for spring beginning 1/14. Purchase at Bookstore and Cashier’s Office. Spring permit fees: Autos-$30; 2-wheeled motor vehicles-$24. Daily Permits: $2; purchase using the kiosks in the parking lots. Parking regulations enforced at all times. Parking is FREE on weekends, holidays, and during semester breaks.
