2 CITY OF RYDE - PROCUREMENT

The ATTACHED report on formal procurement at the City of Ryde, provides information as to

Requests for Tender or Requests for Quotation that are currently in the market. The report also outlines those items of procurement (if any) that are to be reported to the next meeting of Council in accordance with the requirements of the Local Government Act and Regulations. This includes all procurement in the bracket of $50k - $150k in value (Request for quotation) or exceeding $150k inc GST (Request for Tenders). Some of these processes may be marked as being limited to selective respondents. Where this is the case, there has been a publicly advertised Expression of Interest process to establish select respondents or a panel of select respondents that are prequalified to undertake the required works.

7 ARCHITECTURE ON SHOW 2015

City of Ryde has recently agreed to support the Australian Institute of Architecture to deliver a series of ‘Architecture on Show’ talks. ‘Architecture on Show’ provides a platform for leading architects, planners and academics to present their projects and ideas to the general public and their colleagues.

City of Ryde will join a growing number of Councils which are working with the Institute to increase community understanding on architecture and the role of the architect in bringing ideas to life and resolving complex design challenges.

Three talks are proposed in 2015; whilst the topics are yet to be finalised, possible topics include:

‘Macquarie Park – a place undergoing change’

‘Interface – development between high and low density development’

‘Putney Hill – a case study of medium density housing’

The talks will typically be delivered in Ryde Library; though the first talk proposed could be onsite at the Grounds Keeper Cafe in Ryde Park; with architect Matt Day discussing his design.

Council will assist where possible the delivery of the talks; however, the overall management of the event, including the booking process, will be managed by the Institute.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION

In implementing transport programs, the TMA can pilot programs and refine services to help staff travel more efficiently. This work area includes the staff travel questionnaires at existing and potential member businesses which creates a baseline to track the progress of member organisations against performance measures (drive-alone and car parking usage).

The TMA’s intent is to become the transport data hub for the precinct – collecting data and reports from existing sources into a single, online library of travel plans, transport projects and development proposals for use by businesses, organisations, state and local government decision-makers and Macquarie University researchers. The park-wide State of Transport report will collect resources for the online library and produce a timeline of upcoming projects.
