St. Joseph Catholic Academy A Message from the Principal
A Catholic Education: A Gift to Your Children
Dear Parent,
Catholic education is a precious gift that you can give your children that is distinct from other educational opportunities. If your child is not currently enrolled in a Catholic elementary school, why not consider giv-ing him or her that gift at St. Joseph Catholic Academy beginning in September? The partnership between teachers and parents of Catholic school children begins in a shared financial sacrifice. For teachers, it means working for a smaller salary; for parents, it means paying tuition. Yet, both are willing to make the sacrifice because the investments pay a life-long dividend in the lives of the children. The more powerful reason is the recognition that Catholic schools offer what no other schools can provide, i.e., Catholic schools give your children the opportunity to strengthen the relationship with God that began with their Baptism and will continue throughout their lives.
To assist you with tuition, please know that Bishop DiMarzio has established a program of financial assis-tance for children coming into Catholic schools from public schools. Please visit our Academy web-site at www.sjcalic.org to learn more about our extensive program offerings. We are currently registering new families for September classes. If interested, please phone us at 718-728-0724 to arrange for your child to spend a day visiting classes at the Academy before the academic year ends in mid-June.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Luke Nawrocki

Gracias.
Sinceramente,
Sr. Luke Nawrocki

FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI SUNDAY, JUNE 18, 2017
We will celebrate our parish Feast Day with a special celebration of the Eu-charist at 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 18. The 11:00 AM Spanish Mass and the 12:30 PM English Mass will be combined into a bi-lingual liturgy at
12:00 noon in the school gymnasium. Bishop James Massa will be the main celebrant at the Mass. After Mass there will be a procession with the Eucharist around the block stopping at 3 altars for Benediction prayers. After the procession, there will be a celebration in the parking lot for all who attend. We are asking everyone to contribute to the celebration by bringing food and cakes. We are planning on just fin-ger food, nothing that requires a fork to eat. There will be a sign up sheet in the back of the church if you would like to write what you plan to bring. Please remember that there will not be an 11:00 AM or 12:30 PM Mass on June 18 and please plan to participate in this special Mass and proces-sion as we honor the Lord in the Eucharist.
