The Cathedral Choral Society was founded in 1941. The population of Washington, DC was expanding rapidly and the chorus was seen as a way to welcome the community to the Cathedral to sing. New government workers were recruited and business leaders stepped in to lead and support the organization. Today, the tradition continues as businesses support the Cathedral Choral Society through the Corporate Partner Program.
