The University of Maine Field Hockey com-plex is home to the Maine Black Bears. It features an all-turf playing surface, score-board and bleachers that seats up to 500 spectators.

In 2014, The University of Maine field hock-ey complex added several branded wind screens.

“It is always refreshing to see a group of people join forces to make UMaine a bet-ter place,” said Associate Athletic irector for evelopment Seth Woodcock. “This grassroots effort led by several field hock-ey parents and supporters has given our field hockey field a new look and feel. A big “Thank You” to all of those who con-tributed to make the new windscreens a reality!”

“A big thank you to our parents and friends for their donations and support in taking on this project for our program,” said head coach Josette Babineau. “In addition to enclosing our playing facility, it enhances the look and atmosphere of the field as well as adds a sense of Maine pride with the colors and logos.”

Since the addition of the windscreens in 2014, the University of Maine has had a home record of 12-3 at home, good enough for a winning percentage of 80%.

The Black Bears have also outscored op-ponents 50-21 while playing at the Univer-sity of Maine Field Hockey Complex since 2014.
