Meet the new CEOs: These are the Seattle-area leaders you need to know

It was a good year for internal promotions as several C-level execs moved to the top jobs at companies across the Puget Sound region.

Kevin Johnson went from operating to executive officer at Starbucks and Mark Okerstrom went from financial to executive officer at Expedia.

It was also a big year for changes in the banking and finance sector. Brent Beardall was named CEO of Washington Federal, Michelle Seitz was appointed CEO of Russell Investments, Glen Simecek was named CEO of Washington Bankers Association and Margaret Meister became CEO of Symetra.

But it was the region’s retailers that had the most change at the top this year. Eight Seattle-area retailers had new CEOs, including Uwajimaya, Metropolitan Market and Papa Murphy’s.

With this list, we aim to introduce you to the new and familiar faces who are leading this region’s companies.
