Robyn Gouthro and Tracy Story are making a difference. Consistently top producers, the two women know how to get things done, no matter what.

They met at their prior company and in May 2012 decided to make a move to WJ Bradley Mortgage Capital, LLC. It was there they noticed similarities in their work ethic, character and personality. As their brands evolved and they reached their maximum capacity, a branch manager suggested they team up. They realized that teamwork would enable them to serve clients better, have a little personal flexibility and build a bigger brand. They made it official June 1st, and it’s been awesome ever since.

Twenty years ago, Robyn took a chance and opened a local sports bar. She loved working with people but struggled to support two small children. A friend who owned a mortgage company came in and told her he had an incredible opportunity and thought she would be a great loan officer. The very next day, she acted on his suggestion. “I knew from the start it was perfect for me,” she says. With the desire to make a better life for her family, she closed the bar and within three months was the top loan officer in the company. She continued to be a top producer wherever she worked. While making a living was her first instinct, it was the satisfaction and pride in making homeownership for individuals and families a reality that kept her in the business.

Nine years ago, Tracy was the plant manager of a manufacturing firm she’d been with for 12 years. Family members had repeatedly tried to

persuade her to enter the mortgage industry, but she was a single mom and homeowner; going 100 percent commission seemed risky. However, wanting to take back control of her own destiny, she took a chance and left her long-term career with stable income, listed her home and moved back to San Diego. For her first job in the business, she drove 74 miles one way everyday to learn it. A few months later the market began to

crash, but Tracy was hooked from the first client. “I reasoned that my work ethic separated me from others,” she says. “I knew the market would eventually recover, and when it did, If I could really learn this, I knew I could succeed at a high level and distinguish myself from the pack.” That’s exactly what happened.

It’s no surprise that their business is 100 percent referral based. They prefer to do everything in person, showing agents and clients that they value them. “We’re old school,” Robyn says. “I tell people we are not 9–5, we are start to finish. We make ourselves available seven days a week.”

Clients choose the team because they are knowledgeable, trustworthy, dedicated and genuine. They deliver on their promises. Because of this, they have developed a reputation for making the impossible possible and getting their clients loans other lenders couldn’t.

Robyn and Tracy love helping others in need, and the military has a special place in their hearts. They sponsor numerous charity events to give back. “We want Gouthro- Story to be known for compassion as well as passion,” Robyn says. “It is great to be blessed, it is better to be a blessing.”

The two don’t like talking about trans actions or numbers, “because they are byproducts of helping people,” Tracy says. “In the next 12 months, we want to expand enough to consistently help more & more families each month. More transactions are ultimately more homeowners.”
