Premier Copper Products are Especially Easy to Care ForThe rolled corner construction and troughed sink basin of our kitchen sinks promote better drainage and less food traps. Following the simple steps outlined below, your sink or tub will last a lifetime.

To keep clean, simply wash your sink/tub with mild soap, soft sponge, and water. Rinse down your sink as you normally would after each use.

Keep Your Copper Looking It’s Best To help keep the copper looking it’s best, apply an occasional thin coat of Premier Bees Wax Surface Protectant. This natural wax will help to maintain the luster of the copper and will promote better water runoff. A simple sprayon/wipe off application is recommended once a month. Premier Bees Wax Surface Protectant will help protect the copper surface, will not create a wax buildup, and will dry clear to bring out the true copper color.

Should a slightly discolored spot or scratch appear, do not be

discouraged and do not take action. Avoid waxing the sink for a

few weeks so water and oxygen can help speed up the process.

Copper has an endless ability to regenerate the patina surface

naturally. With regular use copper will regain the patina finish

and will once again match the surrounding area.

Prevent DiscolorationTo prevent discoloration or damage to the finish, avoid acidic

substances left in contact with the copper surface. Thoroughly

rinse the sink after working with acidic substances. For example,

when cutting acidic fruits such as tomatoes, pineapples or other

citruses, rinse with water immediately after so the fruit juices do

not linger on the copper. Do not use chemical cleaners or abrasive

substances that might remove the patina, and be sure to rinse the

sink well should one of these come into contact with the copper.

Do not use vinegar to clean the sink, as it is naturally acidic.

But these aren’t just any Nickel Plated sinks; these are Premier Plated using a highly specialized ElectroLESS Nickel Plating (ENP) process that provides both visual and functional durability.

Why is Premier Nickel so much better? We use only LEAD FREE ElectroLESS Nickel Plating (ENP) on all our products. ENP is generally used for engineering applications due to its properties, including: high wear resistance, high hardness, and corrosion protection. The deposit thickness (plating thickness) can be controlled very accurately only with ENP. The LEAD FREE nickel can be deposited uniformly throughout the sink when applied with ENP, which is critical to long term durability. This is a much more laborious and costly process, but is the only way to produce a truly uniform and durable Nickel Plated sink.

Traditionally in the marketplace you will find Electrolytic nickel plating which is used by most sink companies. It is less expensive and does not wear well over time due to the Electrolytic nickel deposits plating heavily in the high-current-density areas. This issue occurs where the cathodes are attached to the sink as opposed to plating lightly in low-current areas that are the furthest from the cathodes. This Electrolytic process tends to wear rapidly and allow the copper to bleed through the lightly plated areas of the sink, making for unpredictable quality and longevity.
