We often use “romantic” to describe our Classic Journeys, and it especially captures the essence of this trip. Medieval towns, Romanesque cathedrals and Brick Gothic architecture frame our journey on this seven-night cruise aboard the Clean Ship-designated Le Lapérouse. Stunning art museums and maritime museums filled with treasures of the past will inspire and educate our always-hungry minds. Our itinerary goes beyond romantic, however, showcasing a rapidly transforming new Europe. Visit cities humming with newfound vitality as we traverse five European nations from the Baltic Sea, Kiel Canal and the canals of Amsterdam to Bruges and the River Thames. Join historian and Hoover Institution research fellow Bert Patenaude, a favorite of Stanford Travel/Study travelers, as he leads our group through the coastal regions of Northern Europe, so rich with history and art.
