Powerful access control functionality.

Full offline accesscontrol

KeyMaster Pro™ 3.1maintains access controlfunctionality even if the PCcrashes or the com-munication link with asystem controller isinterrupted. The OfflineManager downloadshardware configuration and

tag permissions data from the KeyMaster Prodatabase to system controllers. In offline mode,system controllers make access control decisionsbased on the data stored in local memory.Controllers also log all transactions processed inoffline mode. When the connection between thePC and the controller is restored, Offline Managerretrieves offline logs from the controllers anduploads transactions to the central KeyMaster Prodatabase.

Real-time monitoring

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 incorporatesmodules that allow real-timemonitoring of access controlevents, system events, andsystem per-formance. With thelocations viewer you can establishthe current location of anycardholder. You can also set up thevideo viewer to activate when acard is presented at any reader.

Zone control and anti-passback

KeyMaster Pro™ supports bothreader-based and zone-basedaccess control models. Schedulingfunctions give you the power tospecify when access is allowed toany zone or door. You also havethe capability to enforce zonecontrol, so cardholders will only beallowed in a zone if they havepreviously been allowed in anadjoining zone. And you canenforce strict anti-passback toprevent unauthorised use ofaccess cards.

Swipe sequencing and random search

You can set up complex access protocolsfor high security areas by configuring thesystem to require up to five swipe actionsin a specific sequence before allowingaccess at a reader. KeyMaster Pro willonly allow access if cards are presentedand PINs are entered exactly in thespecified sequence. With the newrandom search facility you can alsodefine "stop and search" procedures atany reader.

Intrusion alarm management

The Intrusion Alarm Managerallows you to set up unlimitedindependent alarm systems, eachcomprising several alarm zones.You can use any digital input toraise an intrusion alarm event, andconfigure keypads for the entry ofarming/disarming codes or duresscodes. KeyMaster Pro provides thecapability to automatically armand disarm intrusion alarms bymeans of schedules. Alarm zonescan also be armed in response toany valid sequence of systemevents.

KeyMaster Pro™ provides powerful asset tracking andcontrol functionality based on the patented Link-it™active RF tagging technology developed byWavetrend (formerly known as AIT). Link-it tagscan transmit data securely for up to 5 years on asingle battery.

Controlsoft’s AM-1600 controller connects up to 16Link-it readers to a KeyMaster Pro system via thehigh-speed CS-NET interface. The controller filtersraw data transmitted by the Link-it reader network,and uploads events to KeyMaster Pro.

Using the Asset Reader Manager, you can configureKeyMaster Pro to monitor the movement of taggedassets at key points across your site. Any Link-itreader connected to the system can be set up as anasset alarming reader.

KeyMaster Pro lets you set up check-out stations thatrecognise dual-technology (active / passive) tagsdesigned specifically for asset tracking applications.The active tag is monitored by long-range assettracking readers, while the passive transpondercommunicates at short range with normal proximitycard readers. You can also link a keypad and displaystations to a reader. Cardholders can be required topresent an access card to the reader and to verifytheir identity by keying in a personal identificationnumber (PIN).

The Asset Manager lists all assets defined in aKeyMaster Pro system. Simply right-click on an itemin the list to assign, change or remove ID cards, orcheck assets in and out. Or double-click to view andedit information about the asset.

You can specify the company and department towhich an asset belongs, and record details such asan asset number, description, model number andserial number. In addition to these standard datafields, extra fields are provided for the entry of user-or site-specific information. You can also use videocapture hardware connected to a KeyMaster Proworkstation to record images of all assets.

To streamline management of assets, you can assignthem to groups and control permissions for the entiregroup. You can specify which employees or visitorsare allowed to check out a specific asset or group.Schedules enable you to control when assets areallowed near a reader or in a zone. KeyMaster Proalso provides the facility to protect high-value itemsby assigning additional Link-it tags to them.

KeyMaster Pro’s event programming features makeit easy to configure actions that are performed whenan asset enters or leaves the range of an assettracking reader or when an alarm event is generatedby the system. For example, you can set upKeyMaster Pro to activate a specific CCTV camerawhen a permissions violation is detected at an assetalarm reader.

Time & attendance management

You can use applications such as Kronos®

Timekeeper to analyse up-to-the-minutetime and attendance data recorded byKeyMaster Pro. KeyMaster Pro 3.1 can alsoexport time and attendance data inKronos® file formats. With support forselective logging of transactions at timeand attendance readers, KeyMaster Pro 3.1lets you control where specific employeesor groups clock in and out. For example, inan industrial environment you can clockfactory workers at the main entrance, whileadministrative workers clock when theyenter or exit the office building.

CCTV and building management

KeyMaster Pro communicates with third-party CCTV and building managementsystems via RS-232 serial communicationsports and digital I/O points available onControlsoft system controllers.

Drag-and-drop management

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 gives you "drag-and-drop" control ofvarious security subsystems. The Site Designer enablesyou to set up graphics-rich pages that depict the site layoutand system configuration. You can manipulate zones,readers and other system objects by clicking on the sitelayout map. Simply drag employees or visitors onto a mapto give them access to specific zones or readers. Or hoveryour mouse pointer over a graphic object to view propertiesof the associated system device. Use Site Designer incombination with the powerful Event Wizard to create livegraphics interfaces that change in real-time to mimic systemevents.

Group-based management

With KeyMaster Pro it’s easy tomanage individual cardholders orentire groups. You can specify thezones and readers where a groupis allowed access, and set upschedules to control when theyhave access.

Multilingual support

Multilingual functionality is fullyintegrated with KeyMaster Pro'suser-level interface customisation.When a user logs on, theKeyMaster Pro interface ispresented in the language of theuser's choice. Using ControlsoftTranslator, installers can customiseKeyMaster Pro, FrontDesk andReportoire to provide an interfacein more than 70 languages.

Database administration tools

The Controlsoft KeySmith™ database administrationtoolset is an integral part of KeyMaster Pro 3.1. UseKeySmith™ to verify and maintain the integrity of thesystem database, or to import cardholder data fromvarious common data sources. When you import data,KeySmith™ automatically alerts you about duplicateentries.

Open database technology

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 connectsseamlessly with all major databasemanagement systems, includingOracle, Informix, SQL Server andAccess. The KeyMaster Pro™database architecture employsnew tech-nologies such as OLE DBand ADO, giving you the flexibilityto run access control event logs,system event logs and T&A logson the database platform of yourchoice. KeyMaster Pro ships withthe Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE)SQL Server compatible databaseengine, which supports up to fourKeyMaster Pro client workstations.At larger sites, you can maximisedatabase performance by usingMicrosoft SQL Server.

Site-wide data synchronisation

Controlsoft's DatabaseSynchroniser add-in enables site-wide access control and reportingacross multiple, independentKeyMaster Pro systems. Whenemployee or visitor data ischanged on one system, theDatabase Synchroniser seamlesslyupdates all the other systemswithout user intervention.

Standalone reporting module

With the Controlsoft Reportoire™standalone reporting package, youcan generate summary anddetailed reports without runningthe main KeyMaster Proapplication. Improved controller management

KeyMaster Pro™ 3.1 includes a Controller Managerthat allows you to set up online and offline systemcontrollers easily. You can specify how eachcontroller is connected, and configure the systemto synchronise data between the central databaseand the controller's onboard memory. You canoptimise response times and balance data loadon the CS-NET hardware network by simplychanging the update interval for I/O images storedon individual system controllers.

Powerful objects and events

KeyMaster Pro gives you the capability to definedynamic "objects" representing system devicessuch as zones, doors, readers, controller inputand output points, timers, counters, turnstiles,booths, smart doors, operator stations, and dropboxes. The Action Wizard lets you control thebehaviour of any object (and the associateddevice) based on real-time events generated byother objects (devices) linked to the system. Thisis especially useful when you need to control digitaloutputs based on the status of digital inputs.

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 supports memory-based I/O,allowing you to configure "virtual" inputs andoutputs that behave like physical I/O points. Nowit's even easier to set up real-time animatedgraphics and complex control algorithms.

Low-level system control

In KeyMaster Pro 3.1 you can use clientworkstations to reset low-level systemcomponents such as the Control Manager,Permission Manager, I/O Processor and ExtensionManager. The enhanced event/action processingcapability also makes it possible to define "startupactions" that restore KeyMaster Pro to the correctstate after a system reboot.

Unrivalled controller connectivity

Controlsoft system controllers provide flexible connectivity optionsfor a range of online and offline applications. AC-400x and AC-4100system controllers "fall back" automatically to offline mode if theylose communication with the PC.

AC-400x series system controllers connect to the KeyMaster Pro PCvia a CS-NET interface adapter. AC-400x controllers can maintainfull control of doors, booths and bi-directional turnstiles in offlinemode. Non-volatile memory and battery backup ensure reliablestorage of hardware configuration settings, cardholder records andtransaction logs.

AC-4100 system controllers are ideal for offline operation at remotesites. KeyMaster can communicate with an AC-4100 controller viadirect RS232 serial connection, dial-up modem or an Ethernet/RS232adapter. With the latest firmware and memory upgrades installed,this controller can store up to 2500 cardholder records and 1700 logentries.

Flexible control of card readers

System controllers interface withcard readers via card readercontrollers. Up to 16 card readercontrollers can be connected toeach system controller usingstandard copper cabling. Cardreader controllers are availablewith either RS485 or Wiegand cardreader interfaces.

PIN Padreaders enable you to set up double verification outside normalworking hours or in high-security areas.
