KeyMaster Pro 3.1 makes it easier than ever to set up and

maintain large access control and asset security systems. This

new release is designed for Windows NT and Windows 2000, and

takes advantage of the latest database technologies. Version 3.1

also provides full offline access control, a multilingual interface,

and site-wide data synchronisation. And it supports Controlsoft's

latest system controller and proximity reader hardware.

Powerful access control functionality.

Full offline access

control

KeyMaster Pro 3.1

maintains access control

functionality even if the PC

crashes or the com-

munication link with asystem controller is

interrupted. The Offline

Manager downloads

hardware configuration and

tag permissions data from the KeyMaster Pro

database to system controllers. In offline mode,

system controllers make access control decisions

based on the data stored in local memory.

Controllers also log all transactions processed in

offline mode. When the connection between the

PC and the controller is restored, Offline Manager

retrieves offline logs from the controllers and

uploads transactions to the central KeyMaster Pro

database.

Real-time monitoring

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 incorporates

modules that allow real-time

monitoring of access control

events, system events, and

system per-formance. With the

locations viewer you can establish

the current location of any

cardholder. You can also set up the

video viewer to activate when acard is presented at any reader.

Zone control and anti-

passback

KeyMaster Pro supports both

reader-based and zone-based

access control models. Scheduling

functions give you the power tospecify when access is allowed to

any zone or door. You also have

the capability to enforce zone

control, so cardholders will only be

allowed in a zone if they have

previously been allowed in an

adjoining zone. And you can

enforce strict anti-passback to

prevent unauthorised use of

access cards.

Swipe sequencing and random search

You can set up complex access protocols

for high security areas by configuring the

system to require up to five swipe actions

in a specific sequence before allowing

access at a reader. KeyMaster Pro will

only allow access if cards are presentedand PINs are entered exactly in the

specified sequence. With the new

random search facility you can also

define "stop and search" procedures at

any reader.

Intrusion alarm management

The Intrusion Alarm Manager

allows you to set up unlimited

independent alarm systems, each

comprising several alarm zones.

You can use any digital input toraise an intrusion alarm event, and

configure keypads for the entry of

arming/disarming codes or duress

codes. KeyMaster Pro provides the

capability to automatically arm

and disarm intrusion alarms by

means of schedules. Alarm zones

can also be armed in response to

any valid sequence of system

events.

KeyMaster Pro provides powerful asset tracking and

control functionality based on the patented Link-it

active RF tagging technology developed by

Wavetrend (formerly known as AIT). Link-it tags

can transmit data securely for up to 5 years on a

single battery.

Controlsofts AM-1600 controller connects up to 16

Link-it readers to a KeyMaster Pro system via the

high-speed CS-NET interface. The controller filters

raw data transmitted by the Link-it reader network,

and uploads events to KeyMaster Pro.

Using the Asset Reader Manager, you can configure

KeyMaster Pro to monitor the movement of tagged

assets at key points across your site. Any Link-it

reader connected to the system can be set up as an

asset alarming reader.

KeyMaster Pro lets you set up check-out stations thatrecognise dual-technology (active / passive) tags

designed specifically for asset tracking applications.

The active tag is monitored by long-range asset

tracking readers, while the passive transponder

communicates at short range with normal proximity

card readers. You can also link a keypad and display

stations to a reader. Cardholders can be required to

present an access card to the reader and to verify

their identity by keying in a personal identification

number (PIN).

The Asset Manager lists all assets defined in a

KeyMaster Pro system. Simply right-click on an item

in the list to assign, change or remove ID cards, or

check assets in and out. Or double-click to view and

edit information about the asset.

You can specify the company and department to

which an asset belongs, and record details such as

an asset number, description, model number and

serial number. In addition to these standard datafields, extra fields are provided for the entry of user-

or site-specific information. You can also use video

capture hardware connected to a KeyMaster Pro

workstation to record images of all assets.

To streamline management of assets, you can assign

them to groups and control permissions for the entire

group. You can specify which employees or visitors

are allowed to check out a specific asset or group.

Schedules enable you to control when assets are

allowed near a reader or in a zone. KeyMaster Pro

also provides the facility to protect high-value items

by assigning additional Link-it tags to them.

KeyMaster Pros event programming features make

it easy to configure actions that are performed when

an asset enters or leaves the range of an asset

tracking reader or when an alarm event is generated

by the system. For example, you can set up

KeyMaster Pro to activate a specific CCTV camera

when a permissions violation is detected at an assetalarm reader.

Time & attendance management

You can use applications such as Kronos

Timekeeper to analyse up-to-the-minute

time and attendance data recorded by

KeyMaster Pro. KeyMaster Pro 3.1 can also

export time and attendance data in

Kronos file formats. With support for

selective logging of transactions at time

and attendance readers, KeyMaster Pro 3.1

lets you control where specific employees

or groups clock in and out. For example, in

an industrial environment you can clock

factory workers at the main entrance, whileadministrative workers clock when they

enter or exit the office building.

CCTV and building management

KeyMaster Pro communicates with third-

party CCTV and building management

systems via RS-232 serial communications

ports and digital I/O points available on

Controlsoft system controllers.

KeyMaster Pro is a true client-

server application that takes

advantage of the latest open

database technologies.

The Controlsoft Discovery software

module provides object-based, event

driven control of devices connectedto CS-NET interface adapters.

This open architecture makes it easy

to extend functionality by

integrating with other security

subsystems and enterprise

management applications.

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 is designed for Windows

"look and feel" as popular office applications.

You can customise and place toolbars

conveniently to create a user interface that

suits your way of working. When you log in,

the system retrieves your personal settingsand configures the interface according to

your preferences.

Easy-to-use graphical interface.

Drag-and-drop management

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 gives you "drag-and-drop" control of

various security subsystems. The Site Designer enables

you to set up graphics-rich pages that depict the site layout

and system configuration. You can manipulate zones,

readers and other system objects by clicking on the site

layout map. Simply drag employees or visitors onto a map

to give them access to specific zones or readers. Or hover

your mouse pointer over a graphic object to view properties

of the associated system device. Use Site Designer in

combination with the powerful Event Wizard to create live

graphics interfaces that change in real-time to mimic system

events.

Group-based management

With KeyMaster Pro its easy to

manage individual cardholders or

entire groups. You can specify the

zones and readers where a group

is allowed access, and set up

schedules to control when they

have access.

Multilingual support

Multilingual functionality is fully

integrated with KeyMaster Pro's

user-level interface customisation.

When a user logs on, the

KeyMaster Pro interface is

presented in the language of the

user's choice. Using Controlsoft

Translator, installers can customise

KeyMaster Pro, FrontDesk and

Reportoire to provide an interface

in more than 70 languages.

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 and its companion applications

take advantage of the Windows NT / Windows 2000

operating system platform and the latest advances

in database technology.

Database administration tools

The Controlsoft KeySmith database administration

toolset is an integral part of KeyMaster Pro 3.1. Use

KeySmith to verify and maintain the integrity of the

system database, or to import cardholder data from

various common data sources. When you import data,

KeySmith automatically alerts you about duplicate

entries.

Open database technology

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 connects

seamlessly with all major database

management systems, including

Oracle, Informix, SQL Server and

Access. The KeyMaster Pro

database architecture employs

new tech-nologies such as OLE DB

and ADO, giving you the flexibilityto run access control event logs,

system event logs and T&A logs

on the database platform of your

choice. KeyMaster Pro ships with

the Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE)

SQL Server compatible database

engine, which supports up to four

KeyMaster Pro client workstations.

At larger sites, you can maximise

database performance by using

Microsoft SQL Server.

the main KeyMaster Pro

application. Reportoire may be

installed on any Windows 2000 or

Windows NT PC that has a TCP/IP

The Controlsoft FrontDesk add-

on module helps frontline

Total system and device control.

Improved controller management

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 includes a Controller Manager

that allows you to set up online and offline system

controllers easily. You can specify how each

controller is connected, and configure the system

to synchronise data between the central database

and the controller's onboard memory. You canoptimise response times and balance data load

on the CS-NET hardware network by simply

changing the update interval for I/O images stored

on individual system controllers.

Powerful objects and events

KeyMaster Pro gives you the capability to define

dynamic "objects" representing system devices

such as zones, doors, readers, controller input

and output points, timers, counters, turnstiles,

booths, smart doors, operator stations, and drop

boxes. The Action Wizard lets you control the

behaviour of any object (and the associated

device) based on real-time events generated by

other objects (devices) linked to the system. Thisis especially useful when you need to control digital

outputs based on the status of digital inputs.

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 supports memory-based I/O,

allowing you to configure "virtual" inputs and

outputs that behave like physical I/O points. Now

it's even easier to set up real-time animated

graphics and complex control algorithms.

Low-level system control

In KeyMaster Pro 3.1 you can use client

workstations to reset low-level system

components such as the Control Manager,

Permission Manager, I/O Processor and Extension

Manager. The enhanced event/action processing

capability also makes it possible to define "startup

actions" that restore KeyMaster Pro to the correctstate after a system reboot.

Unrivalled controller connectivity

Controlsoft system controllers provide flexible connectivity options

for a range of online and offline applications. AC-400x and AC-4100

system controllers "fall back" automatically to offline mode if they

lose communication with the PC.

AC-400x series system controllers connect to the KeyMaster Pro PCvia a CS-NET interface adapter. AC-400x controllers can maintain

full control of doors, booths and bi-directional turnstiles in offline

mode. Non-volatile memory and battery backup ensure reliable

storage of hardware configuration settings, cardholder records and

transaction logs.

AC-4100 system controllers are ideal for offline operation at remote

sites. KeyMaster can communicate with an AC-4100 controller via

direct RS232 serial connection, dial-up modem or an Ethernet/RS232

adapter. With the latest firmware and memory upgrades installed,

this controller can store up to 2500 cardholder records and 1700 log

entries.

controllers can be connected to

each system controller using

standard copper cabling. Card

reader controllers are available

with either RS485 or Wiegand card

reader interfaces.

KeyMaster Pro 3.1 supports Controlsoft's new AC-1300 PIN Pad reader,

which combines a proximity smartcard reader and a numeric keypad

for the entry of Personal Identification Numbers (PINs). PIN Pad

readers enable you to set up double verification outside normal

working hours or in high-security areas. Using the PIN Pad manager,

you can define master PINs and employee-specific PINs to provide

dual verification, arm and disarm intrusion alarm systems, raise

duress events or trigger various other actions.
