The Three Little Pigs

Once upon a time there was a mother pig with three little pigs. Because they were growing up quickly and it was getting harder to care for them, she sent them into the world to earn their fortunes.

The first pig to leave home met a farmer in the fields with a bundle of straw. "Please, sir," said the first little pig to the farmer. "Give me that straw so I can build a fine home." So the farmer gave the first little pig some straw, and he built himself a house.

One day, a wolf came along to the door of the first little pig’s straw house. "Little pig, little pig, let me come in," said the Wolf, knocking. "By the hair on my chinny chin chin, I’ll not let you in," replied the first little pig from behind the locked door. "Then I'll huff and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house in!" Then the wolf huffed and he puffed, and he blew the house in.

So the first little pig ran off to find his brothers.

The next pig to leave home met a woodsman in the forest with a bundle of sticks. "Please, sir," said the second little pig to the woodsman. "Give me those sticks so I can build a fine home." So the Woodsman gave the second little pig some sticks and he built himself a house. Unfortunately the wolf came creeping to the second little pig’s house of sticks.

"Little pig, little pig, let me come in," said the wolf, knocking. "By the hair on my chinny chin chin, I’ll not let you in," replied the second little pig from behind the locked door.

Now the last pig to leave home met a builder in town with a load of bricks. "Please, sir," said the third little pig to the builder. "Give me those bricks so I can build a fine home." So the builder gave the third little pig some bricks and he built himself a house. Before long the wolf came to his house, as he had done with the other pigs.

"Little pig, little pig, let me come in," said the wolf, knocking. "By the hair on my chinny chin chin, I’ll not let you in," replied the third little pig from behind the locked door. "Then I'll huff and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house in!" So the wolf huffed and he puffed, and he huffed and he puffed but he could not blow the house in.

The wolf was now terribly angry "I'm going to eat you all of you little pigs," shouted the wolf. "Here I come down the chimney to get you!

So the wolf found a ladder and climbed up to the little pig's roof. Meanwhile the third little pig put a pot of boiling water over the fire. Then just as the wolf came down the chimney the little pig took off the cover and the wolf fell in. Into the pot fell the wolf, with a big splash and that was the end of the wolf.

At last the three little pigs were safe

house. The big, bad, angry wolf went off down the road. He came to the third

little pig’s house. He stomped up to the front door, knocked loudly and

bellowed at the little pig.

WOLF: Little pig, little pig, let me come in!

3rd LITTLE PIG: Not by the hair on my chinny chin, chin!

ALL: So the big, bad wolf huffed and he puffed and he puffed and he huffed.

But he could not blow the house in.

NARRATOR: He was getting very cross. He grumbled loudly, then started to

climb onto the roof of the brick house. He roared at the little pigs.

WOLF: I’m coming down the chimney!

NARRATOR: The three little pigs could hear the wolf shouting as he climbed up

the chimney. He shouted again.

WOLF: I’m coming down the chimney!

NARRATOR: But the three little pigs had thought up a plan. They put a big pot

of hot water over the fire in the fireplace. The wolf came crashing down the

chimney and fell straight into the steaming pot. That big, bad wolf jumped out

of the pot with a yelp.

NARRATOR: The big, bad wolf ran off down the road and never bothered the

three little pigs again. They were very pleased that the wolf had gone. They all

lived together, happily ever after, in the house made of bricks.
