PASTOR’S PAGE To all my sons and daughters in Christ, Some of you may remember back to the year 2001 when the very first meetings were held to begin the Millennium Campaign under Msgr. Felix Oehrlein and later the Gather In Unity Campaign under Fr. Mike Richel in order to renovate the Parish Offices, acquire a new Rectory and build a new church. It was my joy and my duty to maintain the vision of those two good priests and work until the dedication of our new church was accomplished on August 28, 2016. During these years we have accomplished much: acquiring property, demolishing the old rectory, renovating the Parish Office, razing the old church, building the new church with restored and new stained glass windows and building a bell-tower with two new bells. The total cost of all of this was $12.5 million. We have raised, up to now, an amazing $10 million through the Millennium Campaign, the Gathered in Unity Campaign, the Ad Domum Dei pavers, the Windows Eternal project and through private donations made to benefit our church building. Thank you for your part in that wonderful work! That leaves us $2.5 million in outstanding debt. During the homily at Mass this weekend, I will be announcing the Gloria Optimo Deo campaign (G.O.D.) to bring our work to a finish and retire our remaining debt. We can cross the finish line, giving all glory to God the Most High, put an end to second collection weekends and launch out into deeper and more glorious works of charity and evangelization throughout our community. We have the support of some major donors and all that is needed is your part, large or small. There will also be a form to make a new Gloria Optimo Deo campaign pledge to eliminate the $2.5 million outstanding. Please prayerfully consider making a pledge and helping to firmly establish us in giving glory to God the most High and spreading the Gospel message to all who live in or come to visit our community. Gloria optimo Deo! Fr. Eric Sternberg

“Dear Friends, It is not always easy to discern our vocation and to steer our life in the right direction. For this reason, there needs to be a renewed commitment on the part of the whole Church, priests, religious, pastoral workers, and educators, to provide young people, in particular, with opportunities for listening and discernment. There is a need for a youth ministry and a vocational promotion that can open the way to discovering God’s plan, above all through prayer, meditation on God’s word, Eucharistic Adoration, and spiritual accompaniment. On this World Day of Prayer for Vocations, let us join in prayer and ask the Lord to help us discover his plan of love for our lives, and to grant us the courage to walk in the path that, from the beginning, he has chosen for each of us.” Pope Francis

Today, we celebrate “Good Shepherd Sunday,” where we reflect on the care and love of Jesus for us. Your gifts to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will show that you are indeed the disciple of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, as it will bring your love to those who live in fear and doubt, loneliness, and dread.

OUR LADY OF THE DELLS KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FAMILY OF THE MONTH The Knights of Columbus Family of the Month program promotes and supports the development of strong and vibrant families by recognizing the good work being done every day in our Catholic community. Recognized families outwardly exhibit strong ties of love and faith, exemplifying Catholic family values and making meaningful contributions to their parish and larger community. For the month of April, the Knights recognize Bob and Sandy Oxnem for their great works at Saint Cecilia. God bless the Oxnem family!
