To all my sons and daughters in Christ, For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope

and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, (Titus 2:11) Merry Christmas to all and fond wishes for a Happy New Year! My heart is full with the joy of the LORD and the grace that comes from singing His praises at the birth of Jesus and the appearance of sanctifying grace that smiled on the face of the world in the infant face of Jesus Christ. Tremendous thanks to all – Staff, Volunteers, Parishioners, members of the community – who have done all manner of work, sacrificing time and skills, to prepare the church, church grounds and the liturgies to express our deep love for the Lord Jesus and our desire to bring beauty to the world. I leave you with these beautiful words from Saint Leo the Great:

Such a Birth, dearly Beloved, befitted Christ, the Power of God, and the Wisdom of God; whereby He would be both joined to our lowliness, yet remain far above us in His divinity. For unless He were true God, He could bring us no aid; and were He not true man, He could offer us no example. The exulting angels, therefore, sing to the new born Lord, Glory to God in the Highest, and they announce unto me, peace on earth to men of good will. For they see the heavenly Jerusalem made up from all peoples of the earth. With what joy may not the lowliness of mankind rejoice in this unspeakable work of the divine compassion, when the angels in their glory so greatly rejoice.

I love you all like Jesus! Fr. Eric

At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of the Savior of the world, who brings “Light” in lasting and deep joy to the poor and needy of our world. We also celebrate that we all belong to the holy family of God, which makes us brothers and sisters to each other, whether rich or poor. At Christmas this year, and throughout the past year and the coming new year, your gifts to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul help bring light, joy, hope and love to our “brothers and sisters” in need. God’s blessings to all of you and gratitude for your willingness to “help us to help others.” The St. Vincent de Paul Society is in desperate need of staff at our thrift stores, which are the primary source of funding for our ministry. We are now hiring warehouse workers, sorters, pricers and cashiers at our Highway 16 location. Please stop in for an application. Mom’s...take advantage of our “Mom friendly” scheduling - work while the kids are in school!!!

BIBLE STUDY - BEGINS JAN. 7, 2019 7 SESSIONS - $30.00

FULFILLED focuses on the elements found in the outer sanctuary of the Tabernacle and how they connect to the liturgical calendar, the priesthood, purgatory, baptism, and more. Have you ever been unable to explain the “why” of Catholic beliefs? Have you ever wondered why the Old Testament sounds so different from the New Testament? While it is designed as a faith-sharing Scripture study, you will also gain an understanding of some of the most questioned Catholic teachings. FULFILLED will help you: 1) Explain how Jesus fulfills the Old Testament; 2) Share the Catholic Faith concisely; 3) Acquire a thorough knowledge of the Tabernacle’s design and its function as a blueprint for the Faith, 4) Learn how to answer incomplete and non-Catholic interpretations of the Bible; 5) Examine your own faith and grow deeper in your relationship with Christ. Interested: contact Dave Kordell at email: [email protected] or call 608-393-1719.
