AFFIRMATION OF FAITH FROM ROMANS 8 Leader: Friends, let us confess our faith! (THE MESSAGE TRANSLATION)
People: Do we think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is
no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not
backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture. Nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or
unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our
Master has embraced us.
ALL: THANKS BE TO GOD!
HYMN OF ASSURANCE #466 (vv. 1-2) O FOR A THOUSAND TONGUES TO SING O for a thousand tongues to sing My dear Redeemer’s praise,
The glories of my God and King, The triumphs of God’s grace!
Jesus, the name that charms our fears, That bids our sorrows cease; ‘Tis music in the sinner’s ears, ‘Tis life, and health, and peace.
