Western Water submitted the January 2009 schedule update. Milestones 1 and 2 still show completing on time. Western Water has begun initial planning for testing, training and start up. A testing, training and startup planning meeting was held with the system programmer, Carollo Systems on February 26. Western Water (WW) maintained the SWPPP best management practices (BMPs) for wet weather. One rain day was incurred on February 17. Western Water continues routine weekly safety tailgate meetings, weekly safety checks, as well as the monthly safety audit performed by WW’s safety officer. Written reports of all meetings, checks and safety audits have been submitted for the record.

2. Polymer Facility: Western Water received the polymer tank with the outlets in the proper locations and set the tank on its pad. Western Water will secure the tank and install the ladder in March. After the polymer activation units, pumps and other appurtenances are on site, Western Water will complete the piping work in this facility.

3. Gallery A & B Improvements, including Grit Chamber 3 and Headworks Western Water completed construction of the new suspended influent channel beams and walls in the existing gallery. Additional concrete test cylinders were made and field cured, allowing Western Water to strip the channel forms and remove the shoring below the channel once the concrete attained specified strength. The field cured test cylinders allowed Western Water to do this work in two weeks instead of waiting for a month. Western Water connected the 6-inch 3W line around the underside of the suspended influent channel. The 12-inch tank drain line was also connected.

4. Primary Clarifiers 6 & 7 Western Water completed concrete placement for the southern exterior wall and center tank wall and the new influent channel cantilevered slab at elevation 116. They also completed concrete placement of two sections of the north wall of Tank No. 7 and one section of the influent channel continuation walls. The remaining sluice gate wall thimbles were set in place in the headwall of the new influent channel section.

5. Chlorine Contact Tanks (CCT) 5 & 6 Western Water continued some minor mechanical work within the new Chlorine Contact Tanks. Once additional equipment and materials are received, Western Water will complete the mechanical work. Western Water continued to patch and sack the concrete surfaces of the new Chlorine Contact Tanks.

6. Effluent Pump Station (EPS) Western Water completed concrete placement of all upper wall sections of the Effluent Pump Station. Subcontractor, Patent Construction will install shoring for the roof deck in March after the walls are cured and stripped.

7. Site improvements Western Water’s electrical subcontractor, Aspen Timco, completed installation of the electrical duct bank from Pull Box 06 to the Effluent Pump Station. Western Water installed catch basin CB02 adjacent to the Effluent Pump Station. They also installed the new portion of the 8-inch fire protection water line with cathodic protection and connected it to the existing system. The system is now back in service.

8. Aeration Tanks The electrical subcontractor, Aspen Timco, continued the conduit runs on the exterior of the aeration tank building. They will submit a proposed conduit routing plan with details for the Agency’s review. The conduits are for the new sluice gate operators.
