GENERAL NOTES
1. THESE DRAWINGS SHOW THE PROPOSED ONSITE IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE BARN BED AND BREAKFAST. IMPROVEMENTS SHOWN ON THESE PLANSCONSIST OF DEMOLITION, STORMWATER DISPOSAL, SITE IMPROVEMENTS, UTILITY EXTENSIONS AND WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS. BUILDINGPLANS, SEPTIC DESIGN, IMMEDIATE HARDSCAPE AROUND THE BUILDINGS AND LANDSCAPING IS BY OTHERS.
2. THESE PLANS AND ANY REFERENCED ATTACHMENTS OR DOCUMENTS SHALL BE UTILIZED TO CONSTRUCT THE IMPROVEMENTS SHOWN. THE CIVILDRAWINGS REFERENCED DOCUMENTS INCLUDE THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S (WSDOT) STANDARD SPECIFICATIONSFOR ROAD, BRIDGE, & MUNICIPAL CONSTRUCTION, CURRENT EDITION, THE WALLA WALLA COUNTY ROAD DESIGN STANDARDS, CURRENT EDITION,AND THE MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES (MUTCD), CURRENT EDITION. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND HAVE IN THEIRPOSSESSION ALL STANDARD PLANS REFERENCED ON THESE DRAWINGS.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SCHEDULE A PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING WITH WALLA WALLA COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS PRIOR TO START OF ANYCONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY. CONTRACTOR MUST GIVE 48 HOURS NOTICE AND OBTAIN ALL THE REQUIRED APPROVALS AND PERMITS PRIOR TO ANYCONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY WITHIN COUNTY RIGHT-OF-WAY.
4. A MINIMUM OF TWO BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO BEGINNING CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CALL 1-800-425-5555, UTILITY NOTIFICATIONCENTER (ONE CALL), FOR MARKING LOCATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES. EXISTING UTILITY LOCATIONS AND ELEVATIONS ARE APPROXIMATE AND OTHERUTILITIES MAY EXIST. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE LOCATION, DIMENSION, AND ELEVATION OF ALL EXISTINGUTILITIES. ARRANGEMENTS SHALL BE MADE WITH RESPECTIVE UTILITY COMPANIES FOR MOVING, ABANDONING, OR MAINTAINING THEIR RESPECTIVESERVICES. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTION OF UTILITIES THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATELOCATION OF EXISTING WELL SERVICE AND IRRIGATION LINES WITH OWNER.
5. TRENCH EXCAVATION WITHIN THE PROJECT WILL COMPLY WITH WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND INDUSTRIES SAFETY STANDARDSFOR CONSTRUCTION WORK, PART N, EXCAVATION, AND SHORING (WAC 296-155-650 THRU WAC 296-155-66411).
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL AT ALL TIMES OBSERVE AND COMPLY WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS, ORDINANCES, AND REGULATIONSWHICH IN ANY MANNER AFFECT THE CONDUCT OR SAFETY OF THE WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL NECESSARY PERMITS PRIOR TOBEGINNING CONSTRUCTION.
7. ALL WORK AND MATERIALS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE IMPROVEMENTS AS INDICATED ON THESE PLANS SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THEGENERAL CONTRACTOR UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN AN ACCURATE AND UP TO DATE SET OF RECORD DRAWINGS THAT INCORPORATE ANY CHANGES OR ADDITIONSENCOUNTERED. THESE SHALL BE DELIVERED TO THE OWNER UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK AND WILL BE USED AS A BASIS FOR PREPARING ASET OF RECORD DRAWINGS FOR SITE IMPROVEMENTS.
9. EXISTING SURVEY CORNERS AND MONUMENTS SHALL BE PROTECTED AND PRESERVED AT ALL TIMES BY THE CONTRACTOR.
10.THE CONTRACTOR'S SURVEYOR SHALL PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION STAKING AS NEEDED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO BUILDING LOCATIONS, CURBELEVATIONS, PAVING LIMITS AND STORM DRAIN LOCATIONS. CONTROL INFORMATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE CONTRACTOR UPONREQUEST. NORTHINGS AND EASTINGS SHOWN ON THESE DRAWINGS ARE TO THE CENTER OF THE STRUCTURE. STRUCTURES SHALL BECONSTRUCTED PER THE DETAILS.
11.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL VEHICULAR AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC CONTROL. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPAREVEHICULAR AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC CONTROL PLANS FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL BY WALLA WALLA COUNTY.
12. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL ONSITE DURING CONSTRUCTION AND FOR PREPARATION OF THESTORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN (SWPPP). CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL NECESSARY BMPS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ACONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE, SILT FENCES, INLET PROTECTIONS AND STRAW WATTLES, AS NEEDED TO PREVENT SEDIMENT LADEN STORMWATERFROM DISCHARGING OFFSITE OR ENTERING THE STORMWATER GALLERIES. DUST CONTROL SHALL BE PROVIDED ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS TOPREVENT WIND BLOWN EROSION.
13. PER WALLA WALLA COUNTY STORMWATER ORDINANCE, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ANNUAL INSPECTION, RECORD KEEPING,AND REPORTING TO WALLA WALLA COUNTY. PRIVATE PROPERTY OWNERS MAY SUBMIT TO THE COUNTY ENGINEER ANNUAL CERTIFICATION BY AQUALIFIED THIRD PARTY THAT ADEQUATE MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN PERFORMED AND THE FACILITIES ARE OPERATING AS DESIGNED TO PROTECTWATER QUALITY. IN THE EVENT THE OWNER DOES NOT PROVIDE THE ABOVE MENTIONED INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE RECORDS AND THE COUNTYENGINEER DETERMINES THE STORMWATER FACILITY REPRESENTS A PUBLIC SAFETY THREAT, THE COUNTY ENGINEER WILL GIVE 30-DAY NOTICE TOTHE OWNER TO CORRECT THE DEFICIENCIES. IF THE DEFICIENCIES ARE NOT CORRECTED WITHIN 30-DAYS, THE COUNTY MAY ENTER UPON THEPROPERTY TO PERFORM THE NECESSARY MAINTENANCE AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE.
14. GROUP B WATER SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ARE INCLUDED ON THESE PLANS, SPECIFIC DESIGN OF IMPROVEMENTS WILL BECOMPLETED BY OTHERS.

3. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH JOINT USE UTILITY COMPANIES FOR FINALCONDUIT MATERIAL, SIZE, AND LOCATION/ELEVATION PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF TRENCH.
4. BOTTOM OF TRENCH SHALL BE NATIVE, UNDISTURBED, NATIVE MATERIAL. IFGRAVEL/ROCK IS PRESENT IN TRENCH BOTTOM, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BED THEBOTTOM OF THE TRENCH WITH SELECT BACKFILL PRIOR TO INSTALLING CONDUITS.
5. SELECT BACKFILL SHALL BE PLACED WITHIN 6" OF ALL CONDUITS/CABLES. SELECTBACKFILL SHALL BE NATIVE MATERIAL WITH 100% PASSING THE 3/4" SIEVE OR ANIMPORTED SAND OR SAND/SILT COMBINATION PASSING THE NO. 8 SIEVE.
6. GENERAL BACKFILL CAN BE NATIVE MATERIAL MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED INTHE PROJECT'S GEOTECHNICAL REPORT.
7. COMPACT MATERIAL PER THE PROJECT'S GEOTECHNICAL REPORT.8. DEFLECT TRENCH ELEVATION AS NEEDED TO MAINTAIN 6" CLEARANCE FROM CONDUITS AT
UTILITY CROSSINGS.
