The new elementary science texts published by Macmillan/MacGraw- Hill, replacing the 1984 edition has changed it’s format to meet elementary science curriculum’s approach which includes more experiments, thus allowing increased flexibility for science instruction.

“Elementary schools will be under pressure to improve science teaching as they gear up for new tests required under President Bush's school reform law, the No Child Left Behind Act. In Connecticut, state education officials recently rewrote guidelines for science curriculums and will add a science exam to the Mastery Test starting in 2008.”
