Applegate, who worksin Chesapeakes land admnis-tration department in Oklaho-ma City, regularly volunteersfor the Center for Children andFamlies, Inc. (CCFI). CCFI isa nonprofit organization offer-ing programs and services tofamilies throughout the statecoping with adversities suchas abuse, teenage pregnan-cy and divorce. In addition tothe Chesapeake honor, Apple-gate was previously awardedthe2012Volunteer of the YearYoung Citizen Award by theUnited Way of Norman.For more than three years,Applegate has volunteered atCCFI.
