EXECUTIVE PROGRAM
“Islamic Finance Gateway”
Fundamentals of Shariah in Islamic Finance (FoSiF) emphasizes on the application of Shariah
principles and contracts in Islamic Finance as well as the fundamental concepts and principles
of Fiqh Muamalat. A 5-Day program is open for both local and international participants.
The certificate enables participants who do not have degrees in Islamic Banking or Islamic
Finance (or its equivalent) to fulfil the pre-requisite requirement in embarking on the Master
of Islamic Banking and Finance (MIBF) program at AAGBS or similar programs offered by
Learning Outcomes
Explain the fundamental knowledge in Shariah.
Discuss theoretical and practical aspects of Shariah in Islamic finance.
Appreciate Shariah application in Islamic finance.
Ability and competency to:
This course introduces the various terms, concepts, principles and issues in Islamic Jurisprudence. It also covers the classification of sources of Islamic jurisprudence. Application of Islamic jurisprudence in the Islamic banking and finance industry is also highlighted.

M2: Usul Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudent) (1.5-Days)
This course is basically provided for students to acquire knowledge about the concept of Fiqh Muamalat, Islamic law of property and Islamic contract. It analyses the scope of Fiqh Muamalat, property as well as the theory of contract in Islam.
M3: Introduction to Fiqh Muamalat (1.5-Days)
This course introduces and analyzes the basic terminology, concept and methodologies of Islamic Theologies. It also covers the pillar of Iman and the discussion on the different schools of thought in Islamic Theology and contemporary ideologies.
M1: Islamic Theology (1-Day)
This course introduces various aspects of Qawaid Fiqhiyyah and its applications in modern Islamic banking and finance. It covers the introduction to Qawaid Fiqhiyyah, historical development, five major maxims and fewbranches of maxims (Qawaid Furu’iyyah).
M4: Qawaid Fiqhiyyah (Islamic Legal Maxims) (1-Day)
