We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen andunseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the

only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,God from God, Light from Light, true God from

true God, begotten, not made, one in Being withthe Father. Through him all things were made.

For us men and our salvation, he came downfrom heaven. BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY

SPIRIT, HE WAS BORN OF THE VIRGIN MARY,AND BECAME MAN. For our sake he was crucified

under Pontius Pilate, he suffered, died and wasburied. On the third day he rose again in fulfilment

of the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and isseated at the right hand of the Father. He will come

again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in

the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, whoproceeds from the Father and the Son. With the

Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe

Resurrection

1 Cor 15:1-11 — Now I am reminding you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you indeed receivedand in which you also stand. Through it you are also being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I handed on to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died forour sins in accordance with the scriptures; that he was buried; that he was raised on the third day in accordance withthe scriptures; that he appeared to Kephas, then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundredbrothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. After that he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one born abnormally, he appeared to me. For I am the least of the apostles, not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, andhis grace to me has not been ineffective. Indeed, I have toiled harder than all of them; not I, however, but the graceof God (that is) with me. Therefore, whether it be I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

When he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of theJews to him, asking him to come and save the life of his slave. They approached Jesus and strongly urged him tocome, saying, "He deserves to have you do this for him, for he loves our nation and he built the synagogue for us."And Jesus went with them, but when he was only a short distance from the house, the centurion sent friends totell him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof. Therefore, I did notconsider myself worthy to come to you; but say the word and let my servant be healed. For I too am a person subjectto authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come here,' and hecomes; and to my slave, 'Do this,' and he does it." When Jesus heard this he was amazed at him and, turning, saidto the crowd following him, "I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith." When the messengers returnedto the house, they found the slave in good health.

People came tohim and objected, "Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Phariseesfast, but your disciples do not fast?" Jesus answered them, "Can the wedding guestsfast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom withthem they cannot fast. But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away fromthem, and then they will fast on that day. No one sews a piece of unshrunken clothon an old cloak. If he does, its fullness pulls away, the new from the old, and the teargets worse. Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the winewill burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins are ruined. Rather, new wine ispoured into fresh wineskins.".

Jesus said to them, "Children, have you caught anything toeat?" They answered him, "No." So he said to them, "Cast the net over the right sideof the boat and you will find something." FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME1 Cor 15:1-11

Now I am reminding you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you indeedreceived and in which you also stand. Through it you are also being saved, if youhold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I handedon to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins inaccordance with the scriptures; that he was buried; that he was raised on the third dayin accordance with the scriptures; that he appeared to Kephas, then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom arestill living, though some have fallen asleep. After that he appeared to James, then to allthe apostles. Last of all, as to one born abnormally, he appeared to me. For I am theleast of the apostles, not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the churchof God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not beenineffective. Indeed, I have toiled harder than all of them; not I, however, but the graceof God (that is) with me. Therefore, whether it be I or they, so we preach and so youbelieved.

Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude andinsult you, and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man. Rejoiceand leap for joy on that day!
