PLEASE NOTE: The Royal Parks (TRP) and the charity The Royal Parks Foundation have agreed they should become a new single organisation to fundraise for and manage the capital's eight Royal Parks. Both organisations plan to join within a new charitable public corporation. A detailed plan has been worked up, and work is ongoing but it is hoped the new organisation will be established from 1 December 2016. The new organisation will be a charitable public corporation with increased freedoms and flexibilities to manage the parks more efficiently.
Staff joining TRP before 1 December 2016 will be civil servants but after that date their status will change as TRP will be moving out of the civil service to a new charitable status. Staff terms and conditions will be protected on transfer.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Landscape Management Officer (12 month fixed term contract)
Location: Ranger’s Lodge, Hyde Park

Reporting to: Head of Landscape
Key functional relationships:Director of Parks, Head of Parks Services, Head of Landscape, Park Managers and Assistant Park Managers, Estates Team, Events Team, Community Engagement Team, Ecology Team, Arboricultural Team, Communications Team, Horticulture Officer, Consultants, Contractors, Government organisations, local authorities, members of interest groups and a wide range of stakeholders.
Key external relationships:Landscape Framework Consultants
Main purpose of the job: You will be responsible for the development and delivery of The Royal Parks Landscape Management and Operational Plans and their Executive Summaries including research, writing, coordination, programming, project management and the management of consultants. You will bring together a wide range of expertise from park management teams, specialist staff and key external stakeholders.
You will prepare funding and award applications including assistance with the submission of the annual Green Flag and Green Heritage Award applications for each Park. To prepare reports, research and disseminate information to Royal Parks staff.
Main duties/responsibilities:
To work closely with the Head of Landscape to update and deliver TRP’s Landscape Management Plans and annual Operational Plans for each Royal Park
To project manage the delivery of the plans to programme and budget under the supervision of the Head of Landscape reporting monthly on project progress and highlighting risks to project delivery, quality and budget

To work closely with Park Managers, Assistant Park Managers, park based staff, consultants and other specialists to update and develop the plans
To work closely with the Park Managers, Assistant Park Managers, local staff and the Community Engagement Team to support the delivery of consultation and stakeholder engagement activities
To write and proof read text, develop illustrative and technical material, and manage photographic content
To manage issuing and updating of plans, administration and electronic archiving
To support the submission and administration of the Green Flag and Green Heritage Award applications
To write consultants briefs, liaise with and manage consultants and other specialists through all stages of project delivery ensuring quality assurance procedures are followed
To support the development of funding applications To undertake, collate and prepare data, design and survey information
as directed for documentation and presentation materials To manage and work with Volunteers To support the Head of Landscape in the management of programme,
