    MESSAGES

Now, I'm going to read you some messages encouraging people to vote in the upcoming elections for U.S. Senate this November. Assuming it is true, please tell me whether each statement I read is a convincing reason for YOU to turn out to vote on a scale from zero to ten, where zero means it is not at all convincing and ten means it is a very convincing reason for you to vote in your U.S. Senate election in November 2014. If you are not sure how you feel about a particular item, please say so. EDUCATION

_Republicans keep cutting education and attacking public schools, hurting our ability to compete economically and taking away opportunities for our children. Republicans proposed cutting billions in public education, including programs like Head Start, to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy. That hurts our children, as good teachers leave, class sizes increase, art and music programs disappear, and schools become less safe. Families are struggling, paying for basic supplies, and seeing their schools decline. Those priorities are just wrong.

    WAR ON WOMEN GOP INTRO

_If Republicans control the Senate, they will turn back the clock on womens rights. Republican politicians have waged a war on women cutting reproductive health care, attacking a womans right to choose, and even letting bosses deny coverage for birth control. Its time to say no to Republican politicians who are focused on taking away our rights. We can stop them from taking control of the Senate by showing up and making our voices heard. It starts with us.

MIDDLE CLASS / ECONOMY _America was founded on the belief that if we work hard and play by the rules, we should be able to build a better life, no matter where we come from. Now Republicans want to take control of the U.S. Senate and bring back the same policies that brought the financial collapse and cost us 8 million jobs and they are still trying to put Wall Street banks back in control. Its time we vote to put a stop to policies that make the middle class fall behind.

    ECONOMIC POPULIST

_Its about time someone in Washington look out for the people instead of the powerful. While the middle class keeps falling behind, Republicans are working for the special interest lobbyists and big businesses that give millions to their campaigns. They are for tax breaks for wealthy corporations which mean higher taxes on the middle class. Wealthy corporations are cutting worker pensions and shipping good jobs overseas, but Republicans in Congress want to cut their taxes even further. When Republicans win, working people lose.

VOTER SUPPRESSION _We take our right to vote seriously. But Republican politicians in Washington and in states around the country are trying to block us at the ballot box cutting voters from registration files, closing polling places, curbing early voting, and pushing policies that they know will cause long lines. We vote to make our voices heard, standing up for good schools and good jobs. Now its on us to prevent Republicans from taking away our right to vote. We have to fight back and vote in November.

    OBAMACARE

_The Affordable Care Act is providing affordable health care to millions of Americans, protecting people with pre-existing conditions, ending lifetime caps on coverage, and expanding access to preventive care. Its not perfect, but its a major step in the right direction. But Republicans have pledged to make the repeal of Obamacare their only focus. We cant let Republicans take away health insurance from 8 million Americans, and put big insurance companies back in control, denying people access and charging more. If we dont vote, America will lose.

    WAR ON WOMEN EMPOWERING

_It is time we come together to make our voices heard. America was founded on the principle that were all created equal, but Republican politicians have waged a war on women attacking womens rights and economic security. They want to cut reproductive health care, end a womans right to choose, and even let bosses deny coverage for birth control. But we can stop Republicans from taking control of the Senate by showing up and making our voices heard. It starts with us.

    STAKES

_The stakes in this election could not be higher. We need someone who will fight for strong public schools that work for every child, guarantee access to affordable health care, equal rights for gays and lesbians, and protect a womans right to personal medical care decisions. We need someone in the U.S. Senate fighting for our future and thats not the Republicans.
