Proverbs
Expanding upon the ‘Great Minds’ concept the bar is going to be based heavily upon proverbs and famous quotes. These are strongly connected with small talk as they are small pieces of advice that have been passed down through generations and encouraged collaboration and communication between humans.
Connection
I want there to be a strong focus on connection and communication in the establishment. The idea and concept of the bar harks back to an earlier age when people weren’t as socially awkward and conversation was much more natural. With this in mind the use of old telephone operator imagery and tin can telephones would be effective. Each table could have it’s own line exchange to other tables allowing people to communciate within the bar.

Online
The online aspect of this project is going to be as important as the physical, printed products. Having a forum on the website will allow customers to interact before specific events and discuss certain topics and potentially organise meeting up at the event. On this forum users will also be able to suggest questions for guest ‘answerers’ that will be exclusive to the pub
Typeface
I have designed this custom typeface to suit the personality of the establishment. The typeface is reminiscent of an earlier age when hand painted signs were common, this age is associated with a closer knit community than what we have today, which is exaclty what the premise of the bar is.
