GLOBAL PROJECTRFA has developed a thorough ¨know how¨ which facilitates the development fromthe outset of the extremely complex exercise of generating a new stadium. RFAoffers a complete service from the initial and transcendental urban decisions to thedetailed assessment of the various aspects that will help recover what could be theriskiest economic operation in a club's lifetime.

EXPERIENCERFA was founded in 1990 by Mark Fenwick and Javier Iribarren and has over the yearsconsolidated itself as a firm of great potential thanks to the quality as well as thehigh profile of the projects it has undertaken. RFA has successfully developed the lasttwo first division stadiums to be built in the Spanish Main Division, Valencia CF andRCD Espanyol, and has participated in the technical assessment of the Atlético deMadrid new stadium. Internationally, RFA is currently working on several new stadiumprojects in the rest of Europe and the Middle East.projects in the rest of Europe and the Middle East.

Tirana's average altitude is110 meters above sea level and its highest point measures1,828 m (5,997.38 ft) at Mali me Gropa.The city is on the same parallel as Naples, Madrid and Istanbuland on the same meridian as Budapest and Krakow. The design then joins the main towns of the country forming aseries of triangular shapes, representing the union of thepeople in these towns, and the stadium.

The centre area is void in order to allow light to the pitch.

Within this shape of the country of Albania, the football pitchand stadium bowl is located, and the further need for thelateral facades is implemented.

To fit on the site the upper and lower triangles are foldeddown, and could allow support of the roof structure.

The formalization of the faceted form and the lateral facades,with the rugged geometry of the mountains and the Albanianlandscape begin to come apparent in the formal conceptdesign of the stadium.

The black color evokes the form and the memory of theAlbanian Eagle which is present on the flag of Albania, and theAlbanian Eagle which is present on the flag of Albania, and theblack color is again used in respect for the color of the bird onthe National Flag.

The red of the inside bowl and seating responds to the redcolor of the flag, the background for the stadium nationalcolors and the team colors when representing their country.

One only has to look at the surroundings ofTirana, to the nearby mountain ranges, toestablish how the city is accustomed to a ruggedand faceted environment.

It is from here that the second conceptual idea istaken, and where the design of the stadium skinwill look to evoke a rugged and harsh landscape.

These are some of the very first concept drawings tolook to create a strong and original stadium design,but with deep respect for the different concept ideasexplained beforehand.

In this order was necessary to create a new artificial level (plaza level) which allows to separate different circulations in a clear and functional scheme. In this same way commercial spaces are situated in a position where the football event is not interrupted.
