One of the pressures that Nintendo was forced to face was keeping the costs of the Wii U low enough to keep it competitive with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. This sells the wii U at a loss, but if one piece of wii u software is bought the profit then becomes positive

Wii sales slowed down significantly in the past two years.

When asked whether Nintendo had anything in the works for the Wii, he responded, "No, there are not right now."

No more Wii

With the Wii U's release just a mere two weeks away, concerns over Wii U and Wii compatibility have been rising.

Nintendo promised that the Wii U would have backwards compatibility with the Wii.

Not too long ago, it was revealed that Wii games on the Wii U wouldn't work properly with the Wii U Pro Controllers and would require the Wii Classic Pro Controllers.

Nintendo's Wii U is following in its predecessors' footsteps with region-locking.

The Wii U won't allow gamers to play titles imported from other regions.

The news was published today by posters on gaming forums NeoGaf. Nintendo's Wii, along with all of its predecessors dating back to the Nintendo Entertainment System, are region-locked.

Microsoft and Sony allow publishers to decide whether their titles should be region-locked or not.

Bottom line

ThePS3 slims down to its smallest size ever while retaining everything we like and a few things we don't about the PlayStation 3.

Though the new Xbox 360 certainly addresses most of the concerns we've had with the versions before it, we don't think it warrants a purchase if you already own an Xbox 360 in working order

Despite some clever dual-screen gaming mechanics, the Wii U's lack of compelling exclusive software and an overall unpolished user experience make it tough to recommend in its current state.
