Benefits of FibredeckFibermesh® Novocon®

• The combination of Novocon Steel and Fibermesh micro-syntheticfibres provide a unique technical solution for composite metaldecks.

• Fibermesh micro-synthetic fibres are proven to reduce plasticshrinkage, settlement cracking and the explosive spallingtendency of concrete during fires.

• Novocon Steel Fibres provides load bearing capabilities, increased toughness and long term crack control.

• Independent testing proves that Fibredeck provides equivalentor superior performance to traditional welded wire fabricsolutions.

• Up to 20% on site Programme savings.

• No lifting/manual handling of mesh reinforcement.

• Easier concrete placement - no trip hazard from mesh.

• No lapping and spacer products required.

• No onsite storage requirements.

fibredeckNO MESH FLOORDECK SYSTEM

Fibredeck is a composite floor system that uses a combination ofFibermesh micro-synthetic fibres and Novocon steel fibres toprovide a 3 dimensional fibre reinforced concrete.

Traditionally composite metal deck construction has utilised meshfabric reinforcement. This involves the delivery, lifting andinstallation of wire mesh on to floors prior to pouring concrete. This method is a costly and time consuming use of equipment and manpower.

Fibredeck provides a solution where reinforcement is mixedwithin the concrete delivered, ready to pump on-site.

To compliment our floor decking productswe now offer a complete floor slabconstruction by adding the supply andlaying of reinforced concrete.

This single point solution allows integrateddeck slab design with associated tradeinterface and programme advantages.

The companies major achievements can besummarised in the following projects:

• Milliners Wharf, Manchester 25,000m2

• Stella Nova, Bootle 14,000m2

• Project Phoenix, Manchester 10,000m2

• Edward Street, Sheffield 11,000m2

• City Library, Newcastle 10,000m2

• Shear studsMetFloor® 55 has a wide trough whichgives you great flexibility and efficiencywhen placing shear studs.

• Composite beams’ fire performanceEven for two hours fire rating, the topflange of the steel beam does notrequire fire protection when used withMetFloor® 55 composite deck.

• Under floor servicesServices are easy to attach to MetFloor®

55, with the ribs presenting adovetailed recessed groove in theconcrete slab at 150mm centres. Thisprovides the perfect connection forservice hangars via a wedge nut orsimilar device.

• Slab’s fire performanceBecause the dovetail has a very smallopening very little heat is transferredthrough the slab if there is a fire. Sowhen you design for fire purposes youwill need a smaller slab depth.

MetFloor® 55The ultimate in lightweight steel decking for all multi-rise buildings

Cover width 600mm

Metfloor®

MetFloor® 55 is a traditional dovetail re-entrant composite floor deck.

Its profile provides an excellent mechanical key intothe concrete slab, offering a strong shear bondperformance augmented by stiffeners located in theprofile trough. MetFloor® 55 presents a virtually flatsoffit and a relatively thin slab is required to meetfire design requirements.
