Today’s students experience media messages in countless ways--from feature films to the Internet to handheld devices. But students often lack the tools they need to evaluate the information in those messages.

Prentice Hall Media Studio is a media literacy program that helps students analyze and make sense of the media they see every day. The program focuses on three types of media—film, news, and advertising.

Media Studio includes a variety of media clips organized by Prentice Hall Literature:

• Guided analysis of high-interest movies, news, and ads

• Resources to help you choose other films to use in your classroom

• Support for teaching media literacy skills using films of your choice

• Links to Prentice Hall Literature selections, authors, literary, and writing skills

• Links to the Big or Essential Questions in Prentice Hall Literature

• Resources to support students’ work on their own media projects
