Federal law requires that immigration consultants, in Canada or abroad, who provide Canadianimmigrationservicesforafee,mustberegisteredwiththeICCRCandaccreditedasRegulatedCanadianImmigration Consultants (RCICs). Further to the designation given by the federal government, theImmigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) has the authority to regulate anddisciplineimmigrationconsultantswhoareauthorizedtopractice.Unauthorized providers of immigration services are not regulated and cannot be disciplined by theCouncil. Inthesecases,ICCRCwillinvestigatethesituationand,wherenecessary,passtheinformationalong to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), aprovincialorterritorialLawSocietyoranyotherAuthority.
Confidentialityofyourcomplaint
YourcommunicationswithICCRCwillremainconfidentialuntilaformalcomplaintislodged,atwhichpointthepartiesinvolved,includingthemembernamedinthecomplaint,willbenotified.ConsumerswithoutimmigrationstatusinCanadacanbeassuredthatICCRCwilltakeallappropriatemeasurestoprotecttheirpersonalinformation.
