COMPETENT NATIONAL AUTHORITIES

referred to in Article 2(b) of Council Regulation (EC) No 1338/2001

Council Regulation (EC) No 1338/2001, laying down measures necessary for the protection of the euroagainst counterfeiting, provides for the publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities of thelists of the competent national authorities.

Council Regulation (EC) No 1339/2001 extended the effects of Regulation (EC) No 1338/2001 to theMember States which have not adopted the euro as their single currency.

In line with these Regulations, Member States have designated the authorities competent, at national level,for the fight against counterfeiting.

The Commission compiled the lists of these competent national authorities. This lists here below completeand update the lists of competent national authorities published in OJ C 173, 19.7.2002, p. 2.

The lists here below correspond to the four indents of Article 2(b) of Regulation (EC) No 1338/2001.
