THE 3Cs The Nominations Committee is responsible for ensuring the Board is composed of qualified leaders with a diversity of skills and experience. Based on feedback from the current Board, the Committee determined the commitment, character and competencies (the 3Cs) needed on the Board to form a strong governance team. 3Cs - COMPETENCIES

Public/media relations:Experience in communications/ public relations/interaction with the media/social media.

Project Management:Familiarity with planning; budgeting; cost estimating and controls/organization and management of capital programs/experience in local government; capital managers; planners and Construction managers.

Financial acumen or designation(CPA, CA, CMA, CGA):Understand financial statements/ budgets; ability to explain to others the financial health of the organization; help develop financial policies, procedures and investments. Background in financial planning, bookkeeping and professional investments required.

HR ManagementCritical thinking; good organizational & communication skills; ethical; leadership qualities; onboarding experience and performance management.

Community advocacy/shareholder relations:Ability to identify local environmental factors that impact real estate issues or REALTORS®/ Identify alliances with working groups that will forward OMREB’s Advocacy plan as well as the strengths and resources that will support OMREB’s strategic vision.

Governance/Board Experience:Planning work and setting expectations/monitoring performance/developing the capacity toperform/rating performance.

Legal Acumen Familiarity with substantive law and legal procedures/ good oral and written communication/ technology/ analytical and logistical reasoning.

ABOUT OMREB

OMREB serves as a professional body promoting the interests of its Members, assisting REALTORS® in the area to realize success in the business of Real Estate. OMREB manages and maintains systems for the listing and sale of Real Estate with the object of rendering the best possible service to the public for the purchase and sale of Real Estate through its Members.

OMREB also o�ers services such as market information, educational seminars, one-on-one assistance, and orientation sessions to enhance REALTOR® e�ectiveness. A primary focus for OMREB is the adoption and enforcement of sound rules of business conduct and dealing among those engaged in the Real Estate Business as well as ensuring its Members conform and uphold a Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct

THE 3 C’SNOMINATIONS COMMTTEE

The Board, upon recommendation from the President and Governance Committee, shallappoint committee members. No member of the committee can be running for election in that given year. The Committee may recommend additional members to the Board at any time as required.

The Nominations Committee is responsible for ensuring the Board is composed of qualifiedleaders with a diversity of skills and experience. HOW IS THE NOMINATIONSCOMMITTEE APPOINTED?

The Committee determines the character, commitment and competencies (the 3Cs) needed on the Board to form a strong governance team. The Committee then leads the search for individuals who fit the 3Cs and whose unique experience and skills will add value to the Board.

Committee members take a proactive role in encouraging nominations from individuals that possess the desired character, commitment and competencies.

They also lead the nominations process, including collecting materials, scheduling and conducting interviews, evaluating nominations packages and nominees based on articulated criteria, and reference checks, if required, and providing regular updates to the Board on the process.

TIMELINE AND REQUIREMENTS

For the 2019-2021 term, OMREB seeks interested Members to fill six (6) upcoming vacancies on the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will normally include ten (10) Directors and the Past – President.

The requirements that must be met in this election year is that at least three (3) must be from outside the Central Zone, one (1) for a one year term and one (1) must be a Managing or Associate Broker.

NOT CHANCE

To champion our strategic plan and achieve our goals, OMREB needs a strong volunteerleadership group that governs an equally strong sta� group. Each individual Director, and the Board as a whole, must have the best interests of all REALTORS® in mind, and be committed to adding value to OMREB.
