4 Important advices
4.1 Mains voltage, mains frequency
The mains supply voltage and frequency must agree with the values given on the machine rating plate, which is locatedclose to the mains-cable entry in the base of the machine.The maximum mains fuse rating specified must be observed.
4.1.1 Converting the machine for a different mains voltage
Motors:- Roller / table drive, flour duster, roller adjustment drive: 200 - 230 V: delta connection
380 - 460 V: star connectionFrequency inverters:- Different types for 200 - 230 V and 380 - 460 V
Supply unit:- Must be re-connected to suit the mains voltage
4.1.2 Conversion to a different frequency
- The machine can be operated at either 50 Hz or 60 Hz without modification
4.2 Calibrating the roller gap measurement
The machine must not be started if the roller gap measurement has not been calibrated.
Calibrating is required when:
- a new processor has been installed
- some adjustment has been made to the measuring system (absolute value sender) (toothed belt, attachment of the sender, etc.)- the roller gap shown on the display does not coincide with the actual roller gap

4.2.1 Calibrating when a new processor has been installed or a processor has been downloaded with a new software
- load a processor with a new software or install a new processor
- set the roller gap manually to 4 mm (check with a gauge)
- switch-on machine

- press "calibrating", measuring system is calibrated
4.2.2 Calibrating in all other cases
- switch-off mains switch- set the roller gap manually to 4 mm (check with a gauge)- switch-on mains switch- select "settings"- "carry out function", key-in code- select "function calibrating", confirm- carry out function? confirm function calibrating

4.3 Checking the direction of rotation
The Compas 3000 is fitted with an automatic direction of rotation control, i.e. after switching on the electricity supply(mains switch), when a sheeting program is started for the first time, the direction of rotation of the mains is checked. Thedrives are subsequently controlled in accordance with the direction of rotation of the mains.
4.4 Electrical control system
The function of the contactor K1M / K2M is controlled by the processor (Safety installation). In case of malfunction themachine is switched off and an error message is indicated on the display. It is forbidden to carry out modifications tothis control system, to by-pass parts of the system or to change the setting of the K3T time relay.The 24 VDC control voltage is released only when the processor is working correctly. (See also the circuit diagram, sheet3, path 1). Release takes place via processor output A15, watch dog.
4.5 Frequency inverters
The frequency inverter parameters are programmed before delivery for operation of the Compas 3000 (this applies toreplacement parts also).
4.6 Diagnostic program
The display of processor inputs and outputs (diagnostic program) can also be selected by the customer, using the samecode as for programming in fact. Switching of outputs is however not possible in this case.

5.2 Parameters
The parameters are divided into 3 function groups (Levels 1 - 3),a code being allocated to each group.
Level 1: Parameters data, also for customer-use, with same code as programmingThese parameters data allow the customer to adjust certain machine functions to suit his requirements.These are:
- Language in which parameters data are displayed- Side folding, manual reeling left / right / undefined (no passages without roller adjustment)- Pause-times for manual reeling, automatic reeling, folding
Level 2: Parameters data in particular for after-sales service and error diagnosis. These are:
- Definition of the machine equipment automatic reeler, short dough clutch- Final control test, also important function for the after-sales service- Definition of the short dough step (last but one roller gap by sheeting of short dough)- Parameters data to the automatic reeler and the flour duster- Functions for calibration of the roller gap and for initialization
Level 3: Special parameters, that may only be changed on consultation with the after-sales serviceof RONDO LTD, Burgdorf.
5.3 Select parameters, modify values
Select display of parameters:
- select "settings" on initial screen the selection of setup, functions and saving/loading is shown
- select setup Access authorization is demanded
- select desired access level Parameter chart is now shown
The shown values can be modified as follows:
- to modify parameter, click directly onto value, or mark with the arrows value and then click "modify"- modify value- with "confirm" go back to the list of the parameters
When leaving parameters, the question appears "save modification?"
- with "confirm" leave the list of the parameters- with "delete" back to settings- with "abort" back to setup

6.2.1 Position absolute value sender
Set position: The calculated value at which the roller adjustment shows the input roller gap (set gap).Actual positon: value, at which the roller adjustment (actual gap) has actually stopped.
The absolute value sender has 256 positions (0-255). If the brake disk of the roller gap is turned, the indication on thedisplay must be increased respectively decreased step by step by "1". The function of the roller reduction can bechecked in the final control test.
By selecting "detailed views" it can be switched alternatively between detailed views of the inputs, the outputs and theview.
With "setting outputs" it can be changed into the mask for testing the outputs.

6.4.2 Check the inputs
Basically each input can be individually checked with the aid of the electrical circuit diagram. If the contact is closed, theindication of the corresponding input is highlighted.
If all inputs should be checked, especially the function of the relais and the contactors, it is recommended to put throughthe following described test step by step.
The inputs should be checked according to the following order.
Gray background = digital value 1, see chapter 6.4.1 "Overview of inputs"White background = digital value 0, see chapter 6.4.1 "Overview of inputs"

6.5 Outputs
6.5.1 General remarks
The direct switching on and off of the outputs requires careful acting!
The drives only run if:
- the safety guards are closed- after closing the safety guards, one of the black mushrrom buttons must be quickly pressed.

6.5.4 Direction of rotation of the drives
Compas 3000 is equipped with an automatic control of direction of rotation, i.e. after switching on (mains switch), withthe first start of a sheeting program the direction of rotation of the mains is checked. The drives are then triggeredaccording to the existing direction of rotation of the mains.
The roller reduction drive is always adjusted to the rotation direction of the mains. If the running direction of the tabledrive or the flour duster is wrong, take actions as follows:
Flour duster: interchange 2 phasis at the motor connection
Table drive: Check first whether the black mushroom buttons are connected correctly (see chapter 6.4.2 "Checking the inputs"). If the mushroom buttons are connected correctly, interchange 2 phasis of the motor cable at the connector K2M.

6.5.5 Roller reduction brake
switch on/-off brake Output 1 (A0.1)The switching of the brake is audible.
6.5.6 Roller reduction drive(see also chapter 6.6 "final control test")
Attention: Always check the position the roller, before adjusting the roller in the testing mode.
open roller: - Check that output 1 (roller brake) and output 7 (roller down) are not set.
close roller: - Check that output 1 (roller brake) is not set.
- Output 3 (roller on) set and reset Never let the roller go up to the upper end position.
- set Output 7 (roller down)
- Output 3 (roller on) set and reset Never let the rollers close completely
6.5.7 Check absolute value sender for measuring roller gap
In the picture "Diagnosis" the target gap and the actual gap are indicated above. The difference between them shouldnot be more than 0,1 mm.
The absolute value sender has 256 positions (0-255.) If one turns on the brake disk of the roller reduction, the indicationon the display (actual gap) has to increase respectively decrease step by step by "1". The function of the rollerreduction can be checked in the final control test (see also chapter 6.6 final control test).
6.5.8 Clutch table drive / short dough

Indication for short dough clutch / short dough module
- Short dough clutch and short dough module are optional
- The effect of the short dough clutch is that in the last sheeting pass, the speed of the outfeed table is increased
- The effect of the short dough module is that in the last sheeting pass the clutch of the infeed table "slides", i.e. the speed of the infeed belt can be reduced manually
- For the short dough clutch, the switch S1 in the basic module must be closed
- For the short dough module, the switch S1 in the basic module must be open

6.5.9 Checking the table-/roller drive
The motor is driven by a frequency inverter. The reversion of the rotation direction happens through correpondingcontrol commands (left-/right running) to the frequency inverter (output 10 "belt right" and output 12 "belt left").
Attention: The infeed table only runs, if the corresponding clutch is switched on.
Prior to starting, a value for the speed of minimum 50 must be set!

6.5.10 Checking flour duster drive
The flour duster has to turn clockwise

6.6 Final control test
For the final control test an automatic sheeting program is continuously carried out (without dough). The running time ofthe table drive is in each running direction approx. 3s..
It is possible to run programs with the function "stop for folding" or "auto reeler".

7.2 Construction of the controlThe electrical control consists basically of the following parts:
Processor with displayThe machine is controled by the processor.
Basic module (fitted in electrical box)
The basic module contains:
- Relays for the control of the roller adjustment drive and the brake.- Relays for the control of the table clutches- Relays for the drive of the frequency inverter- Relays for the control of the flour duster drive.- Relays for the control of the reeler drive.
Supply unit
The supply unit consists of the transformer, the rectifier and the fuses F1 and F2 for the control voltages 24 VDC and 24VADC.
Contactor control system
The main contactor K1M and the contactor K2M carry out a safety function. When opening the safety guard orpressing the red push button, all drives are disconnected of the net by the contactor K1M.The contactor K2M switches off with a delay of approx. 0,3 s and disconnects the motor of the frequency inverter.
7.3 Checking the control system
7.3.1 Mains voltage
Switch on mains switch and measure all 3 phases on terminals L1, L2, L3.
7.3.2 Control voltages
Attention: The connections of the supply unit transformer have to be connected corresponding the mains voltage.
Control voltage 24 VDC
Used for the contactor control system, the processor and the control of the relays in the basic module.Measure of the voltage: (Fuse F1 / 4AT) on the supply unit
- on the basic module, test points TP1/24DC and TP2/GDC beside the plug of the ribbon cable
- or on the plug X2 on the processor

7.3.3 Control circuit main contactor K1M
The release of the control voltage is done by the relay K15 in the basic module.(See circuit diagram 500701, side 3, path 1)Relay K15 switches on as soon as the processor works faultless.If the processor doesn’t run (Error in the processor), the red LED in the basic module is illuminated.
The control voltage can be checked as follows:
- Measure against ground, e. g. earth terminal- Terminal X1-1: Voltage existing if released off processor (Relay K15)- Terminal X1-2: Voltage existing if both safety guards OK- Terminal X1-6: Voltage existing if both safety guards and red push button OK- Terminal X1-5: Voltage existing if one of the black push buttons is operated
7.3.4 Safety contactor K2M to the frequency inverter
After the main contactor K1M has switched on, the time relay K3T switches on the contactor K2M immediately. Thedrives starts when the input E7 = 1, i.e. contactor K2M has tightened. After the main contactor K1M has switched off,the contactor K2M switches off with a delay of approx. 0,3 s (time relay K3T). The contactor K2M may only switch off,if the motor of the main drive has stopped.
7.3.5 Measure of the voltage on the plugs
All connections to the basic module are plugable and allow a quick and faultless exchange.The following picture shows the numbering of the plug connections. Based on these, in combination with the diagram,the output voltage on the basic module can be measured.

7.4 Important notes to the frequency inverter
7.4.1 TypesFor 200 - 230 V and 380 - 460 V different types of frequency inverters and mains filters are used.
7.4.2 Parameterization
The frequency inverters delivered by RONDO Burgdorf CH are already parameterized. The converters can be usedwithout a change for the sheeting machine Compas SFA6127.
Attention: The parameters must not be changed.
7.4.3 Ground fault interrupter is actuated when inverter is started
Leakage current flows through the inverter.
The inverter performs internal switching. Therefore, a leakage current flows through the inverter. This leakage currentmay actuate the ground fault interrupter, shutting the power off.
Use a ground fault interrupter with a high leakage-current detection value (sensitivity amperage of 200mA or more,operating time of 0,1 s or more) or one with high-frequency countermeasures for inverter use.
Reducing the carrier frequency value in n46 is also effective. In addition, remember that a leakage current increases inproportion to the cable length. Normally, approximately 5 mA of leakage current is generated for each meter of cable.

8.7.1 Convert the automatical dough reeler from the right to the left machine table
Mechanical modification- Dismount both machine tables
- Interchange the drive rollers on both machine tables i. e. drive roller of the existing left table will be new in the right table mounted, drive roller of the existing right table will be new in the left table mounted.
- Change the table hook on the right side of machine head and the bolt on the right machine table

- Mount the automatical dough reeler on the left machine table
- Mount both machine tables
- Interchange mutually the blind plug and the rubber funnel for the cable passage in the base front-left / rear-right.
Electrical conversion
- On the existing reeler cable dismount the connecting plug to the reeler
- Retract the reeler cable into the base.
- Reconnect the plug on the reeler cable. Lead No. 1 to connection 1, lead No. 2 to connection 2.
- Extract the reeler-cable front-left through the rubber funnel and lay it to the reeler.
- Dismount the front cover of the base.
Adjustment of software (modification of the set-up data)
- Put Parameter 11 to 1 (Auto reeler left)
