HP TRIM - Terminologies

Records

• A Record is a Electronic Object existing in the TRIM database.

• Files scanned with the TRIM Connector will be attached to a Record.

Record Types

• Are a way to categorise “like documents”

• Each record type typically has different Controls (Meta-Data) and access

permissions

Record Number

• The Number provided by TRIM when a Record in committed to TRIM

Containers

• Similar concept to a folder that your documents should or will be contained in.

Controls

• Types of meta-data associated with a Record Type - Text fields, numeric values,

lists lookup etc.
