Definition of Service Learning

Service Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that helps combine community service with instruction and the reflection to help the learning experience, teach about your civic duties, and to better the community. What I got from Service Learing

I got several of my own personal benefits from participating in Service Learning. Service Learning has helped me to understand how to reach out a helping hand to my community. I enjoy the self satisfaction of knowing that I helped better myself and the community around me.

Kappa Delta Blood Drive

The KD Blood Drive was the first time I had ever given blood. I was very nervous because I was afraid I would pass out. With the help of my peers I was convinced to give blood because it was for a good cause and would help serve the community. Giving blood was really not bad and I will definitely give blood again in the future.

Lowndes County Community Day

The Lowndes County Community Day was a day where people all throughout the community gathered to serve the community and also spread the word of Christ. I did things such as picking up trash in public places as well as bringing canned goods. I was happy to be a part of the 2012 Lowndes County Community Day

AdPi Softball Tournament

The AdPi Softball Tournament was a fun way of participating in Community Service. The Proceeds went to a good cause and my team mates and I had an awesome day playing softball.
