POLICIES Payment is required at the time of registration for all summer pro-grams. Summer registration is accepted for accounts in good stand-ing (paid in full or enrolled in a payment plan). Broadway Bound, Kate's Camp for Kids, group and ensemble cancel-lation policy: A $25 penalty for cancellations received prior to June 19th will be assessed. There will be NO REFUNDS for cancellations received after June 19th. Completed and signed registration forms must be received no later than 2 weeks prior to the program start date in order to complete your registration. We reserve the right to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition payments will be returned. HOW TO REGISTER Private lesson registration and scheduling must take place by phone or in person. Online registration is available for most group and ensemble programs.

Summer Band with Paddy Hurley All Ages, $100
For intermediate brass, woodwind, and percussion instrumentalists
M-F, 6/22 - 26, 4:30 to 6 pm A great summer tradition at CMS, this multi-generational band performs twice in the summer. Repertoire will include marches and patriotic music, Broadway show tunes and more. Standard literature graded level 1-2 performed.

specifically tailored for the members.

Offered for most instruments and voice, new students are always
welcome. Our 9-week summer session is June 23 - August 22 and offers flexible scheduling with no minimum number of lessons required. Time slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and payment is due at the time of registration.
SUMMER TUITION: 30-minute lessons = $37 per lesson 45-minute lessons = $55.50 per lesson 60-minute lessons = $74 per lesson SUMMER SAVINGS: 30-minute lesson 4-PACK – Schedule 4 for $140* 45-minute lesson 4-PACK – Schedule 4 for $210* There are NO REFUNDS and NO CREDITS for missed lessons and dates may not be rescheduled. *4-PACK Lessons must be scheduled for consecutive summer term weeks, at the same time each week.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Beginning Group Piano with Tom Briggs Ages 7 to 13, $125 (includes book)
For beginners Learn the fundamentals of tech-
nique, proper posture, basic note reading in treble and bass clef,
counting and playing rhythms using Alfred's Basic Group Piano Course,
Book 1. Students will experiment with sounds on digital pianos and
perform for family and friends the last day of class. Maximum of 4
students per session.

Rock n' Roll Song Writing & Recording with Jason Domnarski Ages 9 to 15, $320 For guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, piano, voice Mon. - Fri., 7/13 - 7/17 9 am to 12 pm Recording session on 7/17 Jason Domnarski - CMS alumni, recording artist, and founder of Park Slope Rock School in Brooklyn - brings his 5-day workshop on the craft of song writing to CMS. Form student bands and delve into 3 intensive hours of listening to established artists, analyzing song structures and writing your very own songs. The week culminates in a recording session where students will record their original songs. Tuition includes recording session and CD. Student must bring own instrument, except for drum kit (sticks required).
Beginning Group Guitar with John Birt
Ages 6+, For the beginning student, $125 (includes book) Mon. - Thurs., 7/13 - 7/16, 4 to 5:15 pm Learn the fundamentals of guitar in a group setting in this program dedicated to the absolute begin-ner. Course includes an overall history of the guitar in popular music, proper instrument mainte-nance/tuning, basic note reading and technique using the Hal Leon-ard Guitar Method Book 1. The final class includes a performance for family and friends. Requires a six string acoustic or electric guitar to be provided by the student.

Summer Strings Club with Martha Herrle
Martha Herrle puts the “fun” in fundamentals! These classes provide a supportive and engaging setting for learning the basics
of violin and expanding on current skills and technique.
FOR INTERMEDIATE PLAYERS Ages 6 to 10; Students with at least
one year of playing experience Session A: 6/22 - 6/26, 9 am to 12 pm
daily, $190 Session B: 7/20 - 7/24, 9 am to 12 pm
daily, $190 This group class is the perfect activity for
those wishing to continue group instruc-
tion or begin private lessons. An inten-
sive but fun week of learning new songs and playing in a group. A
demonstration will be presented for family and friends at the end of
the session. Students may bring a snack (refrigeration provided).
May register for one or both sessions.
FOR BEGINNERS Ages 6 to 8; Students with no prior experience, please call CMS
for violin rental resources and sizing information 7/6 - 7/10, 9 to 11 am daily, $170
This class provides an introduction to playing the violin in a sup-
portive and fun class setting. Students will learn how to hold the
instrument and the bow, the rudiments of music reading, basic
rhythms, and, of course, how to make music with other players. A
demonstration will be presented for family and friends at the end of
the session. Students may bring a snack (refrigeration provided).

KATE’S CAMP FOR KIDS!
Join us for an exciting and creative arts experience this summer!

Kate’s Camp for Kids is a state-licensed summer arts day camp that focuses on music, theater, visual art
and dance. Each camp session offers a diverse range of activities on a rotating basis, ensuring a fresh experience for even the most
frequent camper. Every day campers will use their imaginations to create music, art, movement, and characters! The session
culminates in a performance for family and friends that unifies all art forms.
Presented by Community Music School and The Kate, the fun takes place at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center & Theatre,

Rock and Roll Forever, How it All Began
A wop bop a loo bop a wop bam boom! Celebrate how it all began with some of the biggest rock and roll stars to ever assemble in one place. From Elvis, Little Richard, and James Brown to The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and many more, we guarantee you'll want to swoon and croon right along because rock and roll is here to stay! KATE’S CAMP FOR KIDS!

Broadway Beginners: Circus, Circus Musical theater for the youngest thespians!
The Circus is in town and there's excitement in the air! But wait -- the Ringmaster has come down with a case of laryngitis and they need to find a substitute, fast! Join the clowns, jugglers, dancing bears, lions and a host of other hilarious performers as they help one very sad clown smile again. Performance 7/31

Beginners: Bugz
Musical theater for the youngest thespians!
There's going to be a picnic and everyone is pitchin' in...the Lady Bugs are in charge of proper etiquette, the Army Ants will handle security, the Fireflies are in charge of lighting, and entertainment will be provided by the Bumble Bees. But, the Stink Bug wants to come, too. Buzz on over and help the critters rescue the party! Performance 8/7

Broadway Bound Musical Theater Experience!
Ages 8 to 15; $350 per two-week session Monday – Friday, 9 am to 3 pm
This two-week program gives your child the opportunity to experi-
ence every aspect of staging a musical with onstage and backstage
roles for everyone – singing, dancing, acting, creating sets, and mak-
ing costumes – all in just 10 days!
These shows are abridged, fully-licensed presentations and over the
past 13 years, CMS productions have included “Disney’s The Little
Mermaid JR.,” “Cats,” “Seussical JR.,” and “Annie JR.” among others.
Students must be 8 years old by the first day of the program to be
eligible for enrollment. Payment is due at the time of registration,
which may be done online, by phone, or in person.
Daily sessions run from 9 am to 3 pm. Participants will receive by mail a packet including all necessary forms and describing the lead role audition and role-assignment process, what to bring, what to wear, etc. Students must commit to and attend the full 2 weeks of the program. There is no need to audition in order to enroll in Broad-way Bound. The audition process is offered for any student who wishes to audition for a lead or supporting role once registered for the program. Each instructor will select a date for auditions and gen-erally offers one or two alternate dates. Please do not be discour-aged if your child is not selected for a lead role; all participants are important to the production and each student contributes greatly to the final performance.

Everyone's favorite ogre is back in the hilarious stage spectacle based on the Oscar-winning smash hit film! In a faraway kingdom, the green ogre Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits, runaways who've been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. Adapted for young performers and featuring a host of over-the-top characters, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show that proves that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Tuition includes t-shirt and cast pizza lunch on 7/17. Performance 7/17
Broadway Bound West with Joni Gage Presented with Westbrook Park & Recreation
Ages 8 to 15, 7/20 - 7/31 9 am - 3 pm, $350 Westbrook High School 156 McVeagh Road, Westbrook
The smash hit movie musical comes to life on stage in Disney’s High School Musical JR.! Troy, Gabriella, and the students of East High must deal with issues of first love, friends, and family while balancing their classes and extra-curricular activities. Infectious, danceable songs like “We’re All in This Together,” “Get’cha Head in the Game,” and “Bop to the Top” are sure to engage performers and audiences alike. Tuition includes t-shirt and cast pizza lunch on 7/31. Performance 7/31
