Rocky Fork Metro Park On September 7th the city planner and the director of administrative services met with representatives from the city of Columbus, metro parks, and New Albany Joint Parks District to discuss each entity’s future plans for Rocky Fork Metro Park. Preliminary planning and engineering for a possible Rocky Fork greenway pe-destrian bridge was also discussed. Urban Land Institute (ULI) The city planner and the director of administrative services attended the ULI Award event. The city and The New Albany Company were nominated for the community impact award for Market & Main Street II. The award recognizes a public, private, or public/private project, building, program, or initiative that has had a measurable positive impact on a community or the Central Ohio region. The project was not cho-sen as the winner.

BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS SEPTEMBER 2017
Architectural Review Board The Architectural Review Board met on September 11th and heard two cases. The board approved with conditions a certificate of appropriateness to allow for stone to be the primary material on the main façade of a house located at 5886 Johnstown Road. The board approved with conditions a certificate of appropriate-ness to allow a new sign for Board & Brush tenant located at 160 West Main Street. The board heard presentations regarding the Rose Run Park and the Village Hall exterior door remodel. Planning Commission The Planning Commission met on September 18, 2017 and heard two cases. The board approved with con-ditions a final development plan modification to the exterior material and design of the Home 2 Suites locat-ed at 9940 Johnstown Road. The board approved with conditions a final plat for section 1 of the Notting-ham Trace subdivision which includes 48.787 total acres, 57 single family residential lots and one commer-cial lot generally located west of State Route 605/New Albany Condit Road, south of Walnut Street and east/west of Schleppi Road. The commission heard a presentation regarding the Rose Run Park. Board of Zoning Appeals The Board of Zoning Appeals met on September 25, 2017 and heard one case. The board approved with conditions a variance to allow a recreational structure to exceed the height requirement and to allow a cov-ered patio to exceed the area requirement located at 5886 Johnstown Road.

Innovate New Albany TIGER Events TIGER Events are weekly educational events in the form of TIGER Talks, TIGER Workshops, TIGER Book Clubs and TIGER Tales. Volunteers share their experiences and expertise with the audience over lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays. Speakers typically blog after a session and post to the Innovate website. LLC (17 attendees) Other Events New Albany Networking Group – Group of small business professionals that meet weekly. The group
was initiated by Susan Fortner, CEO of Bowers PR and is currently being led by Brian Wade of Univer-sal Pay. Both companies are residents at Innovate New Albany. (12-20 attendees per week)
Columbus Executive Forum – Monthly meeting designed to help meet the networking goals of senior leaders who are in job transition. The group has existed in central Ohio for several years. It has been meeting at Innovate New Albany since January 2017. (10 attendees)
Founder Institute Columbus Chapter – “How to Start a Startup in Columbus.” Presenters included: Brian Penick, Kevin Hiser, and Neil Collins, Co-Chapter Directors of Founder Institute Columbus; panelists were Parker MacDonell, Director, Ohio Tech Angel Funds, Lindsay Stencel, Partner & Chief Legal Counsel, NCT Ventures, and Jay Clouse (18 attendees) Spotlight Neil Collins hosted Kurt Fulmer, Financial Planner at the New Albany Office of Wells Fargo FP. Kurt had heard about Innovate New Albany and wanted to investigate ways to get involved. Neil shared Innovate New Albany’s goals and mission, TIGER Events, other onsite programming and gave a tour of the facility. Kurt plans to attend future events and expressed an interest in sponsoring events as well.

US 62/Greensward Road Roundabout

Name of Project: US 62/Greensward Road Roundabout Start Date: June 2017 Estimated Completion: December 2017 Project description: Construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of US 62 and Greensward Road and Lambton Park Road. Status: The roadway infrastructure is complete and final pavement for the project was placed on Septem-ber 27th and 28th. Name of Project: Innovation Campus Way east of Harrison Road Start Date: February 1, 2017 Estimated Completion: December 2017 Project description: Construction of approximately 5,000’ of roadway, waterline and sanitary sewer that will connect Innovation Campus Way to Mink Street and the new Mink Road interchange. Status: The storm sewer, curb and RCC base were completed during the month of September. The project is scheduled for paving, striping, sign installation, and open to traffic by the end of October. Name of Project: Traffic signals at North Harlem and Dublin Granville and Fodor Roads at the high school parking lot Start Date: Pending project award Estimated Completion: First quarter 2018 Project description: This project adds traffic signals and pedestrian crossings to the intersection of North Harlem Road and Dublin Granville Road as well as the intersection of Fodor Road at the high school park-ing lot. Status: A pre-construction meeting was held on September 20th. The contractor has advanced the pur-chase of the signal equipment.

Building Reviews and Meetings Residential Six residential plan review meetings were held for the following projects: 7421 Ratchford Ct- Paver patio 7160 Longfield Ct. - Patio 3908 James River - Patio 6873 Wentworth - Patio 17 New Albany Farms - Sunroom with hot tub 7665 Ogden Woods - Met with builder on plan submittal process and plans were approved Commercial 11 commercial plan review meetings were held for the following projects: L Brands DC 8 - Mezzanine fire protection response submittal First & Main Cottages - Preliminary meeting to discuss phased approvals KDC - Mezzanine and tank platform reviewed Accel - Adjudication items were discussed Axium II - Footing and foundation phased approval KDC - Discussion on new tank locations and production lines for future PetPeople - Page turn and preliminary discussion AEP Building II - Preliminary discussion Amcor - Project meeting for new addition Marburn Academy - Review and electrical submittal items CCL Label - Discussion on security and exit pathway Engineering Plan Reviews Four initial engineering plan submittals were submitted during the month of September.

The updated letters will include all legal requirements while also providing a higher level of clarity for the residents.
