I am a fourth year student studying Television and Film Production at the University of Portsmouth. I undertook a placement year in my third year, working as a media intern at Family Church Portsmouth. I am keen to work especially with a company that works by ensuring that users and charities can donate/be donated to freely. I believe that working with Givey will be a perfect opportunity as it allows me to be work further in a role that benefits those in need. I currently work with Stella’s Voice, a charity that fights human trafficking by rescuing orphans in Moldova, who are at risk. I went to Moldova in October 2014 to empower the orphans and encourage them to be agents of change in their country. I aim to regurlarly go back to Moldova to work with them further. I am also involved in projects back in the UK to help raise money for the charity. For one of my final year group projects, we are collaborating with Portsmouth City Council, to create a short video that aims to combat sexual violence in BME communities. This project has further enabled me to look at ways I can get involved with combating sexual violence and human trafficking. I previously worked as an event manager of a student church, which enabled me to work with various teams, and the main office, and to also strive to work to a schedule, ensuring the smooth running of the event. As a result, I have developed excellent communication, team working and problem-solving skills through the various projects. Essentially, they have taught me to remain friendly, confident and calm in difficult situations. I believe these skills are vital for working efficiently. I am happy to provide any further information you may require to consider my request and I hope that you will consider my application for the next stage of the selection process. Thank you for considering my application. Yours sincerely, Caroline Gachathi
