Christianity originated in the Roman Empire though it was prohibited at first. Christianity then spread to Ethiopia, Armenia, Egypt, Kiev, the Franks. The way how the religion spread was when rulers would convert the conquered citizens. It also spread along the silk road at monasteries. In Egypt beyond the religion, many paintings, sculptures, buildings, and churches became Christian based. In Armenia they created an alphabet which gave a more clear understanding to Christianity being related to what was written about Christianity, so it was translated to get more understanding to what Christianity was.

Spread of Buddhism (600 B.C.E-600 C.E)

Buddhism originated in the mid-northern part of India sometime during the fourth century BCE, and spread to Sri Lanka in the third century BCE by missionary activities. Buddhism also spread through naval trade routes and along the Silk Road to places such as China, India,Tibet, the Middle East, and Turkey. It is one of the world’s universalizing religions so people quickly assimilated to it, and it spread into 3 dominant strains of Buddhism. Shortly, after the death of Buddha disagreements in the doctrines of Buddhism developed. Many followers began to look to the Buddha as a savior and believed that he should be worshipped. Many others felt that they should not worship the Buddha and look to him as only a teacher. One of them is Mahayana, It is based on individual practice and experience rather than on theology or dogma. Mahayana were the ones who felt it was important to worship Buddha and those who did not were Theravada Buddhists. The different forms that have emerged differ less in what they believe the Buddha's teachings to be than in how they believe Buddhism should be practiced in daily life.
