1. Arrival in SurabayaParticipant who wants to go to Surabaya by airplane, make sure

you arrive at Juanda International Airport, Surabaya. Juanda International Airport (Indonesian: Bandara Udara Internasional Juanda) is an international airport located in Sidoarjo, a small town near Surabaya, East Java. It is located approximately 20 km from City of Surabaya. If there is no direct flight to Juanda International Airport from your country, you may transit first at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport,Cengkareng, Jakarta or Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar, Bali. You should take domestic flight from Jakarta or Denpasar, Bali to Surabaya.

There are two airport terminals in Surabaya, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. They are located in different location. If you come to Surabaya by international flight, you will land at Terminal 2, but if you come to Surabaya by domestic flight you will land at Terminal 1 except for Garuda Indonesia flight and Air Asia flight.You should arrive in Surabaya on 1st

February and depart from Surabaya to your country on 11thFebruary 2015. You do not have to worry about access to accommodation location, because we will pick you up at airport. Just make sure you have confirmed your arrival time to us.

2. AccommodationsDuring this program, you will stay at:

We will cover your accommodation for ten days start from your arrival In Surabaya on February 1 and check out on February 11. Each participants will stay in twin share room and non smoking room. Please contact us about this matter and if you want to stay in single room. If your stay duration is longer than the schedule, the accommodation cost will be your own responsibility.

3. Financial InformationDuring this program, you should also bring extra money. Indonesia

mainly accept Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) as Payment. If you want to exchange money in here, you also may need to bring US Dollar (USD). In Surabaya, many big shops also accept visa and mastercard for payment. We will help you for this matter.

Rough estimation for daily needs are:

-Mineral Water 600ml : Rp 4,000.00 per Bottle

- Snacks : Rp 2,000.00 – Rp 20,000.00 each

- Sim Card : Rp 50,000.00 – Rp.100,000.00 each

4. Climate and WeatherIndonesia has a tropical climate. Humidity and precipitation is high,

especially during December to March. We will prepare you bring umbrella or a raincoat along. Surabaya is known for its hot temperature up to 36ᵒCelcius. When it rains, the temperature drops into around 23ᵒ – 25ᵒCelcius.

5. ClothingAppropriate clothing during the camp consists of casual shirts, T-

shirts, Jacket, collar shirt, blouse over full-length jeans and trousers and a pair of shoes (preferably sneakers). Shorts and sandals are not allowed during formal activities. During rainy season, a jumper/sweater/pullover or sweat shirt will be sufficient.You may not need to bring too many personal items for your necessities in Indonesia. ITS is located nearby malls and shopping centers which provide daily needs, clothing and electronics equipment. Please to use decent cloth and pants (no vulgar cloth and hot pants!)

6. To-Do Before DepartureBefore departure, make sure you do:

- Have a through medical check-up- Make photocopies of your passport, visa and any other important

documents. Leave a set at home and put another set in your luggage.

Before departure, make sure that you’ve brought the following items:

- Enough money - A valid passport- Your Visa- Your letter of acceptance from the

InstitutTeknologiSepuluhNopember (ITS) Surabaya

- The receipt of your tuition payment (if applicable)- Prescriptions for any regular medication- Universal Plug(Type-C/ Indonesia Plug)- Pack light and manageable bags and suitcases

- Clothing and personal items (+Warm cloth or jacker)- Sunglasses (Optional)

7. Visa Arrangement

Social-Visit Visa (VKSB)Social Visit Visa (VKSB) is used to enter Indonesia. It can be

obtained from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia from your original country. Please check the rules and regulations for obtaining a visa to Indonesia in your original country. You may need an Invitation Letter from CommTECH 2015 officials as a necessary document for visa application. You don’t need this visa if you come from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Philippines, Vietnam, Marroco, Peru, Hongkong SAR, Chilee, Equador & Macao Sar because you can use free short visit visa. You can also use Visa on arrival in the airport if your country in required list .
