Lead and float lines are of No. 120 braided Polyoropylene. The outside walls are of No. 9 nylon. Nylon is the best material for making Trammel Nets...they are stronger, lighter, and very easy to handle. Skilled andexperienced craftsmen manufacture and inspect these fine nets to assure you of top quality and better fishing.

Nets are fitted with your choice of plastic floats and leads, or Polycore floatlineat additional cost. The problem of leads and floats falling through webbing is eliminated by using this superior braided polycor float line and leadcore leadline. For nets with tie down floats add $5.00 per 100 yds. Excellent construction, fine workmanship, plus the many advantages of using 100% synthetic make these nets the very best available anywhere.These nets have extra webbing in depth as well as width to enable you to catch more fish. Less than 100 yd. Lenths - Add $2.00. All inside webbing is 100% Nylon Gill netting, first quality. These nets may be furnished in lead core line on the bottom line at 10¢ yd. Extra. MULTIFILAMENT AND MONOFILAMENT EXPERIMENTAL OR SAMPLING GILL NETS

These nets are built primarily for sampling fish populations and water surveys and are used chiefly by environ-mental study agencies, federal and state fish biologists and special marine studies. All nets are furnished with a polycore float line 1⁄2" in diameter and a leadcore leadline. This type of net will sink and fish the bottom strata of the water. If a floating type net is desired we can add floats to fish on surface at 15¢ per yard additional cost. Most nets are made in 25 to 50 foot panels joined into continuous lengths with 4 to 5 panels of different mesh sizes. Small mesh sizes are usually No. 69 thread in 1⁄2 -3⁄4 -1" Sq. Medium mesh sizes are usually No. 104 in 1" -11⁄4"- 11⁄2" and 2" Sq. Larger meshes are usually No. 139 in 21⁄2" and 3" Sq. mesh. If regular floats are desired instead of the 1⁄2" dia. Polycore line 10¢ per yard may be deducted. If panels smaller than 25 ft. lengths are ordered a 20% upcharge is required per net. The polycore and leadcore lines make the nets virtually impossible to tangle as no floats and leads are involved to fall through the mesh. Mesh combinations and hanging sequences may be

varied to suit individual requirements.

MADE OF 100% DUPONT NYLON This net represents and entirely new type of gill netting. It is made of transparent material similar to the leaders used on snelled hooks and trout flies. Fish cannot see the net and are unafraid of it. Even clear water fish cannot see the net. It has proven so effective in West Coast salmon fisheries that it has been outlawed in several western states and some Canadian provinces. It would be well to check state laws before using or ordering any of this netting. The web-bing at the present time is too stiff for trammel net use. At present we have this in sizes equivalent to No. 104, 139 and 208 multifilament gill netting. Yardage of monofilament is approximately 10% less than regular multifilament gill netting. No. 69 furnished in 6 ft. depth and 8 ft. depths only. As in all gill netting the finer twine sizes catch more fish but are not as durable. We recommend therefore the No. 139 in mesh sizes to 4" sq. Any larger mesh would be better in No. 208. Finer sizes than 3" sq. would be best in No. 104. There is no advantage to this netting other than in clear waters where regular multifilament netting will not catch fish. In cloudy or turbid waters a monofilament netting loses the advantage of transparency.

NYLON GILL NETS Our gill nets are hung on a full 1⁄2 basis. (We use 200 yards of netting to hang 100 yard net.) Our method of rigging gives you a net that will fish better and last longer. These nets are rigged to No. 72 polyethylene with No. 9 Nyack Seaming Twine. These nets are complete with leads and plastic floats. TRY OUR NEW POLYCORE FLOATLINE AND LEAD CORE BOTTOM LINE. This new line eliminates floats and leads. For polycore float line add $10.00 per 100 yards. For lead core bottom line add 20¢ per yard. ALL NETS UNDER 100 YARDS IN LENGTH $2.00. It makes an ideal net and we have tested and used these nets for 9 years and they are still in excellent shape, although the steel hoops have had to be replaced, as they rusted out long before the nylon is worn out. With new hoops these nets are going into their tenth year of service. We recommend "Netset" treatment on all

This net is the newest type cannon trap net for trapping and handling geese and ducks and other birds which may be baited to a given spot. The recommended size, after extensive tests, has been determined to be a 60 ft. x 30 ft. size, with a 1 1⁄4" sq. mesh of knotless nylon. This net has, under all conditions, proven to be one of the most satisfactory for general use. It has been successfully used on ducks, geese, doves and other species of shore birds. The net comes

equipped for three cannons. The main difference in the fringe net is that a squared mesh fringe is installed on all four sides of the main cannon net and ti ed back at 6 ft. intervals, so that birds trapped beneath the net cannot run under the edge and are held until they can be drive from beneath the net into crate or cages. The use of the 1 1⁄4" square mesh keeps the birds from entanglement of their heads and wings and they may move freely under the net. These nets are made of No. 189 knotless nylon with bridles attached and ready to be used,

treated with Netset, in size of 60 ft. x 30 ft. x 1 1⁄4" sq. These nets can also be made in a 60 ft. x 40 ft. size. A 24" squared mesh fringe is included on these nets. All nets come treated with a light coating of Netset, as it prevents sun damage, and also helps in the camouflage. If natural

surrounding coloration is needed, merely dip the net in muddy water or sand, which will adhere to the porous construction of the netting. Prices are F.O.B Granite City, Illinois. The 1 1⁄4" sq. mesh is used because it can be used interchangeably on ducks, geese, and smaller spe-

cies of birds. These nets were tested with cannons, using the 140 grain black powder load with Dill, Miller or Thornsberry cannons. These nets have proven to be fast enough with the three cannons required for their operation. However, in the event that four cannon installa-

tion is required, we will install an extra bridle at no extra cost. Rockets may also be used instead of cannons. Any deviation from the 1 1⁄4" sq. mesh size would have an adverse effect in that by using a smaller mesh, the greater air resistance would greatly slow down the action

of the net. This mesh size can be used interchangeably on ducks and geese, as the mallard head do not become entangled. The main advantage of this net is that the geese or ducks can

be driven from beneath the net without entanglement into a crate without handling the birds. This greatly reduced the manpower required and is of special benefit during the peri-

ods of inclement weather, when the geese may be taken to a suitable spot for banding instead of banding at the trap site as has been done in the past. By the fast handling, with this type

of net, paralysis of the legs and wings is noticeably reduced.

(Cannon Net Continued)The condition of the birds, therefore, is much better after banding release, as the pri-mary feathers are normally not broken and the birds can resume normal flight when released. Also, geese and ducks which can move freely under the net, do not lose or

fray their tail feathers. Therefor, aging is faster and more accurate.

KNOTLESS NETTING This is a quality netting that has reduced the price of netting far below the price of knotted nylon. The No. 189 as priced is about the diameter of No. 15 cotton or filament nylon. It

has the footage (sq. ft. per lb.) of No. 9 nylon. It can be cut to any shape without the ends unraveling on the raw edge. This greatly reduces cost in small orders. (There is no up

charge on small quantities.) Many times stronger than cotton it has all the wearing qualities of nylon netting. It may be spliced very easily in the same manner as conventional nylon

KNOTLESS NYLON SEINES These seines are hung by hand on 1/3 basis in depth as well as length. (Many

seines are hung with 12% less depth). This gives a seine that will fish deeper than advertised. Will not unravel when a mesh is broken. All mesh above 1 1⁄4" sq. and larger is of No. 189 knotless (approximate diameter of No. 15). All mesh of 1⁄2" sq. is of No. 147 and all mesh of 1 1⁄4" sq., 1" sq. and 3⁄4" sq. is of No. 147 knotless nylon. Many fish hatcheries and conservation agencies over the country use these for handling fish for stocking. The smooth knotless mesh free of knots is

NETSET How to Use Netset

It is a cold treatment, no heat required. No tar vat necessary. Many fishermen merely stack their nets 8 or 10 at a time and pour the treatment over the nets until fully covered. A large piece of plywood and a piece of gutter recovers the runoff and two 5-gallon buckets can be used (one pouring and one recovering the runoff). Coverage of 50 to 60 hoop nets per hour is not uncommon. Let drip for a few minutes and pour excess in a sealed can to prevent harden-ing and thickening. Nets will dry complete in 2 to 6 hours (depending on temperature). No oil slick left and absolutely no smell in the water. Nets begin catching immediately. Does not crack or peel off in cold weather as tar does. Stays flexible. For a lighter coat on seines cut with a small quantity of solvent or mineral spirits to suit. We recommend this as the finest net
