What is a Digital Learning Object?A piece of digital media, a document, or interactive

“game” targeting a learning goal and aligned with standards - such as:

• Short videos (usually 1 – 8 minutes )

• Animations demonstrating a concept

• A primary source object (i.e. The Declaration of Independence), historic photo or newspaper clipping

• An interactive like student fill-in-the-blank or manipulated tools

• Radio documentary, print article, lesson plan, discussion guide, teaching tips, activity sheets, and more

What is a “Purpose Built” Digital Learning Object?

• Introduces and reinforces an explicit learning objective or concept

• Connects students w/ learning experience

• Invites students to be active learners

• Adapted to deliver optimal technology integration
