It is my pleasure to welcome you to South Georgia State College, a four-year institution with supportive faculty and staff who are focused on your pursuits of success.
We are proud to offer you the choice of 23 associate’s degree pathways along with three baccalaureate degrees – the Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, the Bachelor of Science in Management, and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. No matter which pathway you may take, our faculty and staff are ready and willing to help you achieve your goals.
In addition to our academic offerings, we will provide you with a full college experience that is affordable. Our Douglas Campus includes two residence halls, which offer the conveniences of taking classes, and becoming involved in campus life, while staying in your own home away from home. Qualified students may apply to participate in Federal and/or State Financial Aid program(s) as well as for scholarship assistance through our two college-affiliated Foundations.
You have the flexibility to take classes at one of our multiple locations, online, or through the Move On When Ready (M.O.W.R.) program offered by any one of our local high schools.
Our mission at SGSC is to provide you with the foundation you need in order to be successful in your professional life, so let’s get started. Come SOAR with us!

We support you.We believe no one should have to try and succeed in college on their own.
That’s why we offer many support services to our students: Academic Success
Centers, STEM Centers, access to study rooms in our libraries, and our online
tutoring service. In addition, we offer disability services, general counseling, and
career counseling.
The SGSC R.I.S.E. Program is also available to help you if you’re in need of
assistance with everyday needs such as toiletries, food, and school supplies. So
don’t hesitate to ask if you need extra help outside of class or general advice to
