The HBCHHS was organized with the intent to support the education of students in multiple areas, which include: maintaining and improving the environment of CHHS, providing input to the principal and governing council, providing volunteer support services to the school, and collecting and expending funds and other resources in support of the school community as a whole. Business/Public Relations Objectives Our business objectives include getting the word out in regards to the many ways that people can donate money to support the school and community. One way parents, staff, and community members can contribute to our school is by opening a bank account at BBVA Compass. When customers make transactions by their bank issued credit card, a percentage of that purchase gets matched by the banking institution, who then deposits directly into the Hawk Boosters checking account every month. Hawk Boosters is also set up with Ralphs Grocery stores, which offers a similar matching of funds program if the customer uses our number during checkout. These are just a few ways people can contribute and not cost them any extra out of pocket. There may be others who wish to contribute larger amounts, for which they would be provided a tax donation letter, as the HBCHHS is currently registered as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Strategies to Consider Involvement is a key component when implementing a solid working relationship among members, students, staff, and parents. Food is always enticing in getting more people to attend functions, therefore monthly meetings could possibly provide cookies, snacks, or even an occasional potluck. Utilizing smart meeting technology would be another useful tool to reach more members who cannot attend meetings regularly. Smart Meeting is an application where parents can call in during the meeting time in order to participate and vote on issues right from their phone. Another strategy to consider for those parents who are extremely busy, with no extra time, is to possibly target the retired grandparents or other relatives, whom may be interested in filling in to provide volunteer services or monetary support to the school. In addition, the HBCHHS may want to consider appointing a public relations position to the executive board (possibly a student representative) who will be responsible for spreading the word on what is happening within the Boosters through social media sites.

Mission Statement and Purpose:

Our mission is to develop and build a strong unified relationship between the parents,

students, and staff members of Citrus Hill High School by promoting activities that will benefit

students who are enrolled both now and in the future. The HBCHHS was organized with the

intent to support the education of students in multiple areas, which include: maintaining and

improving the environment of CHHS, providing input to the principal and governing council,

providing volunteer support services to the school, and collecting and expending funds and other

resources in support of the school community as a whole.

Business/Public Relations Objectives

Our business objectives include getting the word out in regards to the many ways that

people can donate money to support the school and community. One way parents, staff, and

community members can contribute to our school is by opening a bank account at BBVA

Compass. When customers make transactions by their bank issued credit card, a percentage of

that purchase gets matched by the banking institution, who then deposits directly into the Hawk

Boosters checking account every month. Hawk Boosters is also set up with Ralph’s Grocery

stores, which offers a similar matching of funds program if the customer uses our number during

checkout. These are just a few ways people can contribute and not cost them any extra out of

pocket. There may be others who wish to contribute larger amounts, for which they would be

provided a tax donation letter, as the HBCHHS is currently registered as a 501(c)(3) charitable

organization.

Strategies to Consider

Involvement is a key component when implementing a solid working relationship among

members, students, staff, and parents. Food is always enticing in getting more people to attend

functions, therefore monthly meetings could possibly provide cookies, snacks, or even an

occasional potluck. Utilizing smart meeting technology would be another useful tool to reach

more members who cannot attend meetings regularly. Smart Meeting is an application where

parents can call in during the meeting time in order to participate and vote on issues right from

their phone. Another strategy to consider for those parents who are extremely busy, with no extra

time, is to possibly target the retired grandparents or other relatives, whom may be interested in

filling in to provide volunteer services or monetary support to the school. In addition, the

HBCHHS may want to consider appointing a public relations position to the executive board

(possibly a student representative) who will be responsible for spreading the word on what is

happening within the Boosters through social media sites.

Public Relations Incentives

The Hawk Boosters will utilize Facebook, Twitter, and other social media forums to

advertise meetings and events. Contests and raffles can be conducted each meeting to award a

small token of appreciation for members being at the meeting. Prizes could be a gift card from

Starbucks, itunes, or a local restaurant. What works best is when local businesses will agree to

donate prizes that can be used for raffle events, as the HBCHHS is registered with the Attorney

General’s office and is approved to conduct charitable raffles. Raffles can be highly profitable

fundraisers, especially when the organization offers at least one coveted grand prize item. The

more items you can raffle off, without having to purchase, the more tickets you will sell and

money you will make. The boosters could offer an incentive to the many clubs on campus by

asking them to donate at least one gift basket (valued at around $50-$100) to use as a raffle prize,

which will also be judged based on contest criteria such as originality or best of show. The

winners would then be awarded a pizza or ice cream party.
