Single Sign on – Introduction

Single Sign-On (SSO) has gained widespread adoption as it saves users from

having to memorize a long list of passwords. SSO authenticates the end user for all

the applications the user has been given rights to and eliminates further prompts

when the user switches applications during the same session.

SSO saves time and cost by reducing helpdesk calls on resetting the passwords.

SSO is designed to enhance the end user experience during log-ins by making the

process quick and simple thus improves customer satisfaction.

A user-friendly login process is very important because the login screen is where

the first interaction between users and the inner halls of our website will be taking

place. Users who are our customers would want their experience to be great right

from the start.

SSO allows users to remember only a single password. It will be so much easier to

encourage the use of strong passwords and to keep those passwords confidential.

Thus improves compliance and security capabilities.

SSO – Home Page

Pie Chart Displays Asset class wise percentage of holdings. Total Net worth shows the market value of current holding in Equity stocks + Mutual Fund (+/-) MTM in Futures and options and cash balance as per Ledger. Also we have Total Investment value, Today’s Gain/loss, Over all Gain/Loss, Asset value, Current Value and Net worth computation on tabular columns. A tree view of various report headers / applications are available on the left side of SSO home page. Click on each header expands the list of reports under each header. Click on each report connects to the exact report that the user likes to view. Second click on each header collapses the tree under each header. To close the tree, click the arrow on top of the tree.

My Profile

My Profile display the key KYC detail of the customer and allows the customer to request for the update/change of values if found incorrect or not updated. a. Mobile number and Email address can be changed instantly after entering the OTP (one time password) which will be sent to his/her registered mobile and email address. b. Name, Permanent address and correspondence address can be changed and KYC document can be downloaded. After download, it has to be signed and submitted to the nearest branch with the necessary ID proofs as mentioned in the KYC document. The changed values will automatically get captured in the form while downloading the same. c. Date of Birth, Gender, Annual Income, Net worth, Net worth date, Occupation, Marital Status, Father/ Spouse Name can be changed and KYC document can be downloaded and sent to customer care through registered email address with Chola Securities.

Manual Transactions – Update Opening Holding

The opening stock prior 01/04/2015 are updated from available records . This is an important one time activity to be done by clients to update their original purchase date and price wherever necessary to get their capital gain report correctly. Click Edit button to change transaction date, quantity and rate if required. The date can be modified to only a prior date and cannot be a date after the date to avoid resulting in un-reconciled entries.

Manual Transactions – Update Off market Transactions

DP off market transactions are also considered as transactions in portfolio tracker. Debit transactions are treated as Sale and credit transactions are treated as purchase. The price of the transaction would be the closing price of the transaction date. Click Edit button to update appropriate date, quantity and the price The date can be modified to only a prior date and cannot be a date after the off market date to avoid un reconciled transactions.

Manual Transactions – Unreconciled Transactions

Un Reconciled transactions arise when there is a difference between the holding as per stock transactions and the actual DP holdings. To tally the holding, clients are allowed to ADD transactions on their own in this option to get the same reconciled. Click ‘Add’ button to add manual transaction.

Financials – Financials Account balance

This report shows the clear balance and the final balance as per back office Financial Statement. Clear balance indicates the account balance excluding unrealized cheque receipts. Final balance indicates the account balance including unrealized cheque receipts.

Financials – Capital Gain A detailed capital gain report (Short term, Long term & Speculative) provided with transactions, number of days held between the buy and sell period and the tax calculation. The tax percentages are tentatively used as 15% for short term , 0% for long term and 30% for Speculative. User should verify the current applicable tax rate with their tax consultant and change it to get the exact tax liability in this report. User can choose any of the 2 methods 1.‘FIFO with Speculative breakup’ or 2.‘FIFO only’. 1st method displayed by default. By default current financial year would be displayed. User can change to view other financial years. Derivative Realized gain / loss also can be viewed here. Option given to choose ‘Include Off market sale’ to include the same in this report

This report shows the number of days pending for a holding stock to become long term based on the date of purchase. User can choose any of the 2 methods 1.‘FIFO with Speculative breakup’ or 2.‘FIFO only’. 1st method displayed by default. This report shows Holding stocks which are already in long term (held 365 days and above) and the number of days held.

Financials – Fund Withdraw

This report allows the customer to submit a request to withdraw an amount when credit balance is available as per financial account statement which is displayed on the screen. 3 day’s balances will be displayed (T day, T+1 day and T+2 day). Customer can mention an amount against ‘Request Amount’ field equal to or less than least of the 3 balances. The requested amount will be processed on the day of request.

Financials – Today’s Transactions Trades / Funds In / Funds out

Today’s Transactions – Trades. From this report customer can view the trades done for the day instantly as and when the trade gets executed for the orders placed at the exchange either through online trading or through off line or in any other form. The transactions price here is only market traded price and will not include brokerage and other charges. Today’s Transactions – Funds In and Funds Out This report helps the customer to quickly make out the funds related transactions happened in his / her financial account statement instantly. Customer will be able to manage his funds obligations easily.

Financials – Capital gain(2018-2019) A detailed capital gain report (Short term, Long term & Speculative) provided with transactions, number of days held between the buy and sell period and the tax calculation. The tax percentages are tentatively used as 15% for short term, 10% for long term and 30% for Speculative. User may verify the current applicable tax rate with their tax consultant and change it to get the exact tax liability in this report. User can choose any of the 2 methods 1. ‘FIFO with Speculative breakup’ or 2. ‘FIFO only’. 1st method is displayed by default. Calculation of taxable gain – (a) Short Term capital gain – The short term gain arises when the holdings period is less than 365 days and a tax of 15% will be calculated on realized gain. (b) Long term capital gain - The long term capital gain arises when holding period exceeds 365 days. Central government made long term profit taxable with effect from financial year 2018-19 at a rate of 10%. Profit earned from stocks purchased prior 31 Jan 2018 will be taxable only from 31 jan 2018 if the same is sold after holding 365 days and above. The holding period before 31 Jan 2018 is not taxable. (c) Speculative gain – Tax for speculative gain will be calculated as 30% on the speculative (intra day) realized gain.
