ColorPRO Technology In the case of new and improved HP Universal Bond Paper and HP Bright White Inkjet Paper, ColorPRO Technology is based on a class of paper additives that visibly enhance the print quality of inkjet printing compared to untreated bond papers. The additives help fix the colorants in many inkjet inks near the surface of the paper delivering professional quality and striking results. ColorPRO Technology employs an innovative new approach in which a specific chemical interaction between the additive and the pigment in the ink helps fix the pigment at the paper surface while the rest of the ink penetrates deep into the paper (see Figure 1). Designed to achieve the full print-quality potential of HP Designjet printers HP Designjet printing solutions are designed to support the needs of technical and graphics applications, providing accurate line quality and vivid colors.1 Developed for HP Designjet printing systems, ColorPRO papers provide noticeably enhanced print quality compared to standard untreated bond papers.

The ColorPRO differenceColorPRO papers perform to a strict set of specifications that define color excellence. The performance criteria includes:

• High color gamut• Line edge acuity • Limited color-to-color bleed

The difference is striking:• Striking results for eye-catching graphics and presentations• Sharper, finer detail—for realistic images and precise lines• An extended range of colors—for high impact results

With ColorPRO Technology, customers experience visibly enhanced print quality at production speed.

ColorPRO TechnologyIn the case of new and improved HP Universal Bond Paper and HP Bright White Inkjet Paper, ColorPRO Technology is based on a class of paper additives that visibly enhance the print quality of inkjet printing compared to untreated bond papers.

This specific interaction between the ColorPRO Technology additive and the ink colorant enables a paper design for HP Universal Bond Paper and HP Bright White Inkjet Paper that offers a unique combination of print quality and rapid ink absorption. The result is professional quality and striking results at production speed.

Print quality enhancements are visible in each of the areas illustrated in Figures 2 and 3 for performance on HP Universal Bond Paper and HP Bright White Inkjet Paper.

The additives achieve noticeable improvements, accomplished with precise control over how the ink behaves at the surface and as it penetrates into the paper. The additives essentially immobilize the pigment in the ink at the surface of the paper, keeping more colorant at the surface and achieving higher black optical density, which appears as higher contrast black and more striking colors.

Dot placement is precisely controlled, reducing black line raggedness and appearing as sharper lines. In the more challenging case of multiple inks printed as text over color, immobilizing the pigment at the paper surface reduces color-to-color bleed which appears as sharp, clean text-over-color placement.
